Gorgeous location for a wedding reception. My friend had a small 80-person reception in their beautiful ballroom. Right outside the ballroom is a patio that overlooks the world class golf links where you can watch the sunset. There is a Roy's Hawaiian fusion restaurant and Peppoli Italian restaurant located in the resort. Cocktails at Trap's bar & lounge are very expensive, but strong. They make one of the best raspberry lemon drops I've ever had - I was tipsy after just one.Recommended for:

This stately 48-room lodge in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains goes for a handsome, old-guard aesthetic (hunt-club prints, Chippendale chairs aplenty). Private Virginia wine country vineyard tours with the sommelier of its lauded restaurant, Fossett’s, can be arranged, along with self-guided or chauffeured tours down nearby Route 151, a scenic highway passing through many of Charlottesville’s top wineries. Fossett’s also serves local bottles and hosts themed wine dinners several times a month.

Great place.....love the service and the rooms. Nice and spacious. Actually I think the better word is indulgence. I just went here for kicks. Well, as it turned out I got lost in Pebble Beach looking for this place and I have to admit that getting lost there was an adventure...got to see that old gnarled tree, a lot of beautiful houses and not to mention the great scenery. I eventually found it...the people in the area are very helpful. Since I'm not much of a golfer that aspect of the area does nothing for me. It turns out that I like going here when the weather isn't that great - it just seems fitting when the fog rolls in while I cuddle up under a large blanket by the fire. I love that outdoor fire place. And it goes oh so well with the bag pipes. Don't love the bag pipes so much, but if I were to listen to them anywhere in CA, it would be at The Inn. And I love the food at Roy's. The nice fusion kind of goes against the grain of what you would look for in Carmel, however the contrast to said area is done ingeniously. I look forward to staying here again. On a side note, the funny thing that happened last time I was there....ok perhaps it wasn't that funny but I witnessed the hotel van...I believe it was a hotel van rub up against a limo scratching it up pretty bad.........I don't quite know whatever came of the situation but it was memorable...how often do you see that happen really?
Ending on a tangent - Again - with the double entries for this place?

A luxurious country INN on a perfectly serene location. The double room was incredibly beautiful and comfortable, and the fireplace especially nice. The horse rides along with the spa and Golf Course are alone worth the trip. The Roy's restaurant in-house offers innovative Hawaiian Fusion on a pleasant fine dining ambiance. Generally, the experience is slightly overvalued, but rather magical and memorable.
