I stayed at this hotel during it's opening night about a year ago. As I strolled up to the hotel in my jeans & sneakers, I was immediately embarrassed by my wardrobe. There was a massive line of people dressed in their best, waiting to get into to grand opening party. The hotel staff had a great sense of humor ...

Aside from housing the rich and famous during the 1893 World's Fair, the Palmer House also shares another piece of history with the exhibition. It was here that a pastry chef was charged with creating a new confection to wow fair-goers, resulting in the birth of the brownie. The hotel still serves their chocolate creation at their in-house Lockwood Restaurant.

I got to experience two of the InterContinental's most remarkable features back to back: the stunningly ornate junior Olympic sized pool and service so fast and accommodating that a security guard brought me a new key as I stood with wet hair by my door for less than 5 minutes. When you push the "Need anything?" button on the phones ...

Drake is such an institution! I had been wanting to stay there ever since I find out about it. I finally got a deal and stayed there. I was a bit disappointing I have to say. Absolutely my fav hotel in the city, I'm so sad it was bought out and turned from a boutique to a chain (albeit a really nice chain). Ria is reconcepting (best seafood by far in the landlocked Midwest) and currently closed, but was phenomenal. More hotels should adopt the no trip policy, it really puts the emphasis on hospitality.

A treat for business travelers, elegant, functional, and super comfortable. However, it is massive and somewhat commercial. Service was dynamic and efficient. The area is good, just a few mins walk to 'Magnificent Mile' and 'Millennium Park. Do explore: visit the 'Art Institute of Chicago’; it has a great Impressionism and post-impressionism collection.

This hotel is a mix of modern art and homey comfort. The lobby is the kind that’s dark even in the daytime, the front desk made to look like stacks of suitcases. But then – this is sort of hard to express – there are rocking chairs in front of a fireplace that me want to sit. I can’t put ...
