I love the James Chicago because it redefines the boutique hotel experience. It’s upscale and has a beautifully styled restaurant with outstanding service. In Chicago it’s important to have the right location; I love walking and the James couldn’t be in a better spot.

The James serves up modern luxury with all the amenities. Rooms are spacious (by downtown hotel standards), with city views and complimentary WiFi. The hotel is also home to David Burke's Primehouse, named the city's best steakhouse by Chicago Magazine. For smaller bites, head to the newly opened Burke's Bacon Bar, which serves up pork-centric sandwiches. For late night sips, head to the hotel's new cocktail bar, which is already attracting a trendy crowd.

The James Hotel is a perfectly modern hotel with impeccable service. The rooms were spotless, beds were the most comfortable I've slept on in a hotel in years with beautiful linens. The amenities in the rooms including the toiletries & towels were first class. I was also very impressed with the art everywhere you looked, so beautiful, and at such reasonable rates. A beautiful room with perfect service in an ideal location so close to the train stop; I couldn't have been more thrilled with the James Chicago.

I stayed at the James Hotel in Chicago when I was in town for a wedding and had the best experience. Not only is the hotel in a prime Chicago location (you can't go wrong when you're right down the street from Uno's and Due's!), they also have amazing amenities (great workout room, etc.), and very nice and comfortable rooms. I will definitely be back to the James and would recommend it to anyone visiting Chicago.

Really like the James. They are a pet friendly modern hotel right off Miracle Mile. Close to shopping, lots of restaurants and other sites you'd want to visit in Chicago. Rooms are modern and welcoming and I have nothing bad to say about the service.

The James Hotel is super well located, a few steps away from the Magnificent Mile and subway stations. I was lucky to be upgraded to a suite and I paid a super good price for my room. My room was well appointed and I loved the books on Chicago that you can find in the room. Close to fabulous shopping, good dinning options. The breakfast in the hotel's restaurant was good too. I will stay there again.

It is a treat having David Burke’s Primehouse as The James Hotel’s restaurant. The staff are like friends, and the steaks are aged perfectly. It is so nice to go to a place where you feel like the staff is paying attention, and not faking a patronizing smile. The rooms are huge! My bed was so soft and comfortable! I was really sad to leave. The bathrooms are not as big, but they are new and really nice. They have everything you could want in the mini-fridge, including some things that consenting adults may need. Also, The James is directly across from Trader Joe’s in case of the rare chance what you need is not in the mini-fridge. It is easy to see why this is one of the best hotels in Chicago.

The James was extremely busy when I checked in, but they cheerfully and efficiently got me to my extremely inviting and comfy room. It took about an hour and couple calls to get some forgotten toiletries delivered, but it was near Lollapalooza and the lobby, as I said, was just this side of madhouse. A bottle of wine and a couple cheeses from the Trader Joe's directly across the street and a loaf of fresh bakery bread from Eleaven (also across the street), kept me and friends sated in my comfy sprawlably large room until our reservation at David Burke's Prime. We watched Shark Week on the huge flat paneled TV until it was time to dig into some briny oysters, sweet lobster and crab in the classic "shellfish tower" that I hope never goes out of style. The ultra-aged steaks (64 days in one case) had a complexity that is difficult to describe. The restaurant, which had near flawless service, is almost reason enough to stay at the James. But the hotel stands on its own.

Excellent, comfortable room with beautiful interior. Friendly staff and a small bar in reception with a decent beer and whisky selection. A short walk to various bars, restaurants and high street shops, with a Trader Joe's supermarket across the street too.
