The Jane Ballroom used to be one of the hippest places in town. Even after the glory faded, a bunch of the cool crowd still would go there. I recently went back for two parties over the course of one weekend and as soon as 11:30 hit, the place is a douche bag mob scene. The bars are completely mismanaged ...

The name of this West Village restaurant certainly reminds me of London's quirky named bars. Apart from the charming neighborhood surroundings and possible celebrity sightings, this place is best known for its juicy rockfort cheese burger and shoestring rosemary fries. The wait is a bummer (by that I mean 2-3 hrs wait for a table), so I suggest you put ...

    Mamu Thai Noodle Truck

Started as a Kickstarter campaign, the crowd-funded food truck is awesome. My favorite thing about Thai restaurants is the noodles and they're available on the go here! Pad Thai, Pad Siew, and Drunken Noodle are all on the menu and can be made with veggies and tofu, chicken, or shrimp ($7-9). Noodles are cooked fresh and served hot, with good ...

Excellent place for brunch for the folks who still feel the adrenaline rush from the night before. Paradou brings some of the Ibiza morning/early afternoon party culture to their restaurant during brunch in the form of DJ house music and bottomless mimosas. The menu features a nice selection of brunch favorites with a twist. Try to make reservations or at ...

Great little bistro in the meatpacking district which is just down the street from the High Line. Food and drinks were great. Our server was quite brisk and not terribly helpful in deciphering the menu but maybe that is appropriate for a French bistro. Either way, I definitely recommend this spot.

This restaurant has the cutest courtyard in NYC with great Italian food (pasta dished are divine) - unfortunately, the music is too loud and ambiance a bit rowdy... which is a contrast the the pretty and charming setting. I went on a Friday so maybe its quieter during the week though.

    Wallsé

Austrian sophistication in a charming West Village location. It isn't cheap but you won't have jet lag or lost luggage. Wonderfully prepared continental European menu. You can have a schnitzel if you want it but most of the menu is lighter fare that is delicately prepared and elegantly presented. The spacious setting and attractive art work make this a perfect ...

Just in case you miss the cornets (which i did sadly) everything, i repeat everything else you might try here is amazing! I went during the summer when the hottest item to get was the frozen smore. It was amazing to eat with an iced coffee, you won't regret going here

I will just start out by saying... the burger; get the burger. The black label burger IS as good as everyone makes it out to be. The roasted bone marrow also leaves nothing to be desired. Also?! The grand marnier souffle is just bananas delicious. Pair all of this with some expertly crafted cocktails and that my friends, is what ...

A New York summertime favorite, this ice cream truck expanded and opened two brick and mortar shops downtown. John T. Edge, author of the Truck Food Cookbook recommends trying the cool, white soft serve, flavored with vanilla, topped with wasabi-spiked green peas. “Dissonance never tasted so good.”

I first discovered this theatrical majestic restaurant, thanks to On Location Tours featuring Sex and the City hotspots. Fans of the TV show, and the 2 movies, may recognize the grand staircase from the first movie where Carrie and Big celebrate their rehearsal dinner. The decor is surreal, with countless lounges and nooks for elegant dining, exuding a Hollywood feel. ...

This bohemian bar in West Greenwich Village has an old school vibe, complete with wood floors and a jukebox. But the real draw is the Bistro burger, which has been on the menu virtually unchanged since the 1960s. It starts with 8 ounces of chuck, sirloin and top round, and is broiled until it forms a dark crust. No spices ...

Two words. Mario Batalli. Enough said. Loved the light body pfarrhof wine! Can hardly believe that this Italian eatery can get you full on just appetizers, at incredibly low prices. Prosciutto is excellent, as is the unique take on caprese salad with pine nuts. 5/6 pm is highly recommended for an early dinner, before it gets too crowded.
