The Kahala Hotel & Resort

5000 Kahala Ave Honolulu, HI 96816
24 reviews

This is a lovely 5-star resort, located just east of Honolulu. The grounds are lovely, the beach is very private, they have dolphins on-property, and the staff is amazing. The rooms are updated, and there is plenty to enjoy with on-site golf and spa.

This is a solid four star hotel with a five star awesome rating! Excellent value for the location...a little further on the end of the main strip. But it feels very much in the main fold of action. As a family, we couldn't have asked for better amenities. The daily resort charge will get you free parking (if you rent ...

    Hotel Class:
3.58 mi from The Kahala Hotel & Resort

If I could afford limitless luxury in Waikiki, this is where I'd book myself into - if the Halekulani resort was already full, of course. The Royal Hawaiian, which is nicknamed the 'Pink Palace' for reasons that will be obvious once you arrive, is one of Waikiki's oldest historic hotels. A recent head-to-toe renovation has really gussied up the place. ...

This hotel has really come up in the world in the last few years, following several changing of hands and interior transformations. Now a Marriott-branded hotel, you can expect professional service, quality amenities and a high level of cleanliness. Plus, the vibe is more modern than the average mid-priced hotel--not stuffy, tired or boring, but more sleek and upscale, yet ...

Stay at the Ala Moana if you’re attending a multi-day event at the convention center across the street or plan to concentrate on shopping at the adjacent 300-store Ala Moana Center, just outside of Waikiki. Local folks from the neighbor islands love to stay here to avoid the chaos of Waikiki, plus the prices are more affordable. The hotel was ...

Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa

    Hotel Class:
3.11 mi from The Kahala Hotel & Resort
    7 reviews

A mega-resort without land to spread out on, the Marriott (1,310 rooms!) concentrates into two high towers and a labyrinth of shops, restaurants and courtyards. The location’s stellar (as are some of the views)—right on the main shopping/dining strip and across the street from Waikiki Beach—and rooms are gently elegant in classically contemporary décor. Highlights include Sansei, one of Honolulu’s ...

    Hotel Class:
3.13 mi from The Kahala Hotel & Resort

The Park Shore has long been one of Waikiki’s best-kept secrets. It sits on the corner of Kalakaua Avenue and Kapahulu Avenue, right across from the beach and totally unobstructed by other buildings. That means that views from many ocean- and Diamond Head-facing rooms can be absolutely mind-blowing. Because some rooms also look out over the Honolulu Zoo, you might ...

We came here as a family a couple months ago and LOVED IT!!! :) before we came I'd read that it wasn't really a family hotel, but I'd beg to differ. At the top of the boutique hotel game in Waikiki, this Ian Schrager-designed hotel feels much more expensive than it is (it's now managed by the awesome island-based Aqua chain of hotels and resorts, which are eco-friendly). Don't miss having a drink in the lobby bar, hidden behind a revolving bookcase, James Bond-style. The pool deck adjoins Iron Chef Morimoto's ...

If you’re coming to Waikiki with family or friends, the Beach Tower will feel like a home away from home. Although it’s right on the main strip and just across the street from the beach, it’s set back between the hotels and almost goes unnoticed. The lobby and the swimming pool are both small but elegant; there’s no restaurant, but ...

What a great find! Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach opened in late 2011 with a bright, contemporary, serene and spacious atmosphere--and it's only about a block from the beach. Décor is just trendy enough to feel special and just classic enough to feel comfortable. I think business travelers will especially like this hotel. Standard guest rooms are large for Waikiki and ...

When I'm visiting Waikiki on a budget, this Aqua high-rise hotel usually has the best rates. It's not on the beach, but it is within walking distance to it. Rooms are compact, but clean and clean-lined. Wi-Fi can be slow and the simple breakfast by the pool isn't huge, but overall it's a fair bargain.

Located across from the beach with a breezy, open lobby and a welcoming, spacious pool area opposite the front desk. The pool is very active with families having fun. If you’re coming to Waikiki with younger children, want a little extra living space and don’t put a priority on trendy, I’d vote for the Banyan. A large hotel/condo on a quiet side street, you’ll get individually owned and decorated one-bedroom units with full kitchens, private balconies, separate bedrooms and sofa beds. I’ve been in a bunch of the units ...

A decent Hilton hotel close to Waikiki Beach, about a 5 minute brisk walk. The room was fairly nice. I liked the large shower and the amount of counter space around the sink in the bathroom, along with the Peter Thomas Roth toiletries. The bed was very comfortable, too. I slept soundly every night. MAC 24/7 restaurant in the lobby ...

Stayed here with family on my very first trip to Hawaii. It was hard to believe that the hotel lobby was open air. Went to the pool almost everyday, and always in time to see the musical performers in the early evening, along with hula dancers. We also received a lovely gift basket from the hotel halfway through the trip. ...
