The Kahala Hotel & Resort

5000 Kahala Ave Honolulu, HI 96816
24 reviews

This is a lovely 5-star resort, located just east of Honolulu. The grounds are lovely, the beach is very private, they have dolphins on-property, and the staff is amazing. The rooms are updated, and there is plenty to enjoy with on-site golf and spa.

Just a short drive from Waikiki in the old-school luxury environs of the Kahala resort hotel, Hoku's does cutting-edge contemporary island cuisine. Prices are high, but the kitchen and the chef deliver the goods, especially at over-the-top Sunday brunches.

A restaurant serving up ono Greek eats in East Honolulu. We tried the fresh fish and New Zealand lamb plates. Both were well cooked and wrapped in pita bread and yogurt sauce, served with a side salad. Go to the adjacent Oliver Wine and Deli for beer and wine. It's BYOB at Olive Tree Cafe! With a patio and a ...

The mixed drinks are absolutely fabulous. This is my favorite place to take people for Pau Hana. They have excellent specials and live music some evenings. Their patio is pleasant. I really like that they make all their drink mixes from scratch. I love their margarita's they are not too sweet and always fresh. The food is so so. Nothing ...

They take credit card - which is immediate bonus points, especially for a lunch truck. Consistently here everyday - when school is in session - so its dependable. Menu was scattered - vegetarian options available and the plate lunches came with a pineapple and orange slice which was a nice touch. Gumbo - good amount of sausage, shrimp and chicken, ...

Get into the Aloha spirit having a drink beach side. In the evenings they sometimes have a ukulele player to add to the Hawaii vibe. The bar area is massive great for big groups.

3.38 mi from The Kahala Hotel & Resort

So this place lives up to the hype and lines for its flavor. The udon, made in house, is spectacular. The tempura items are fresh and very tasty, and they cost an additional $1.50-1.75 each (about). Service is hasty and somewhat gruff, though the cashier was very friendly. It's cafeteria style, so expect noise, warmth and commotion. This is a ...

Sasabune has AMAZING sushi! I've been to Sasabune in LA, and generally it's good if you sit at the bar, but sometimes inferior if you sit at a regular table. This is a cool and trendy shop and a lot of fun for a group or even solo. Li hing and pickled mango, keahole lobster in a taro puff and onaga sizzled Chinatown style with hot oil and crispy fried ginger, cilantro and green onion. This menu us chef's love letter to Chinatown. Absolutely beautiful.
