The Kahala Hotel & Resort

5000 Kahala Ave Honolulu, HI 96816
24 reviews

This is a lovely 5-star resort, located just east of Honolulu. The grounds are lovely, the beach is very private, they have dolphins on-property, and the staff is amazing. The rooms are updated, and there is plenty to enjoy with on-site golf and spa.

Just a short drive from Waikiki in the old-school luxury environs of the Kahala resort hotel, Hoku's does cutting-edge contemporary island cuisine. Prices are high, but the kitchen and the chef deliver the goods, especially at over-the-top Sunday brunches.

The mixed drinks are absolutely fabulous. This is my favorite place to take people for Pau Hana. They have excellent specials and live music some evenings. Their patio is pleasant. I really like that they make all their drink mixes from scratch. I love their margarita's they are not too sweet and always fresh. The food is so so. Nothing ...

They take credit card - which is immediate bonus points, especially for a lunch truck. Consistently here everyday - when school is in session - so its dependable. Menu was scattered - vegetarian options available and the plate lunches came with a pineapple and orange slice which was a nice touch. Gumbo - good amount of sausage, shrimp and chicken, ...

I LOVE Shirokiya!! It is my favorite place to eat in Ala Moana. It's a Japanese dept. store with a cafe located on the upper level. There are many vendors offering all kinds of Japanese and Hawaiian cuisine. I've actually had some of the best poke I've ever eaten here. I love Japanese foods and have spent a little time ...

"Local first, organic whenever possible, and with Aloha always." The motto at this neighborhood gem says it all. Chef Ed Kenney creates amazing dishes using local staples like this griddled paiai with boquerones, tomato, shallot and purslane. Every bite was amazing. Wash it down with their craft cocktails - highly recommended!

When visitors come to Honolulu looking for the best restaurant, Alan Wong's is the one that comes to mind. Yes there are other famous restaurants and chefs, but this one stands out and beats the rest. The service is always excellent, the waitstaff are genuine and polite. Their menu is shown on the iPad, very modern and visually appealing. The ...

This place is historic and famous. It's been on the show "Diners, Drive-Inns and Dives" - all for good reason. You don't want to miss out on the loco moco, or really any of the plate lunches for that matter. This is your typical Hawaiian plate lunch joint, and everyone loves coming here because it's fun, quick and ridiculously ono! ...

Every city needs a gastro-pub that DOESN'T call itself a gastro-pub where you can watch community based events (aka Sports or Politics) and eat and drink with creative abandon. This is Honolulu's unpretentious yet highly consistent answer to this critical civic need. Also Bourdain approved goodness. Very near Ala Moana shopping center and a great late-night hangout in Honolulu/ Waikiki ...

    Shokudo Japanese Restaurant & Bar

4.49 mi from The Kahala Hotel & Resort

Near the gigantic Ala Moana Mall, this Japanese izakaya is part of a chain, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Prices are more reasonable and lines are shorter than at many of Honolulu's more haute izakaya. The boisterous atmosphere is great for groups and the joint is usually open fairly late. A huge picture menu makes ordering easy if ...
