My favourite place in London to stay. It's great for my family as it's so close to the South Kensington museums and my 6 year old loves the Natural History Museum and all its dinosaurs. The service is discreet and impecible, the rooms are an OK size for London and are well fitted out. Next time I'm in London I'll be checking in here again.Recommended for:Family Travelers

This property is one of the Doyle Collection stars known for their luxury and hospitality. It is set on a stunning Victorian townhouse, recently renovated, and situated at the prestigious Queens’s Gate near Central London. Its 150 stylish guestrooms are individually decorated with designer furniture, and feature high ceilings and full length French windows which allow for remarkable light, elegance and city views. The beautiful free standing baths and TileVision TV’s make for a perfectly romantic ambiance. That said, authentic British roots are apparent on the culinary and décor of the Aubrey Restaurant which offers an ideal fusion of modern British and international flavors prepared with seasonal produce. Service is outstanding, Wi-Fi Internet is complimentary, and the hotel rates are rather high. The hotel is set on the fashionable Kensington area, home to great landmarks, museums and parks including Kensington Palace, Hyde Park, The Victoria & Albert, The Natural History and the Science Museums, the Royal Albert Hall, Hyde Park. Nearby are King’s Road, Olympia and Earls Court, and the fashionable shops of Fulham Road and Knightsbridge.

The Kensington Hotel is a glamorous hotel with top-notch service. Upon arriving to discuss a booking, I was offered a cup of tea (unique among the many London hotels I've spoken with) and graciously accommodated. The rooms are spacious and brightly colored, with cashmere throws on the beds. And I definitely want to schedule my next party at the Aubrey bar, where you can get the mixologist to design a cocktail especially for you.

I always find that, no matter where you go that there is no excuse for not being pleasant. This is only more important at less than appealing places. And inversely so some may think that the better the location and decor the less polite one should be. Here they are great all the way around. Though it is a touch pricey... and I'm not one to not spend if the value is there... but still pricey is pricey and despite it being worth it, it is just double the pain since everything in Europe is practically expensive.. though that should bear no reflection on this wonderful hotel. The timing was just off for me personally to fully enjoy the location as I watched the dollar sink more and more every day. ARG! That aside this location is perfectly walkable to the nearby museums. And FREE wifi. I like free!
