The Langham, London

1C Portland Place | Regent Street, London W1B 1JA, England

Very pricey tea time in the palm court of the Langham hotel. Typical British - good to take international clients. But I wouldn't go again. Definitely not worth the money.

    Wigmore Hall

Wonderful concert venue in Mayfair near the Bond Street and Oxford Circus tube stations. We saw a wonderful performance there last night for Wolfgang Holzmair with piano accompaniment by Imogen Cooper. Schubert at his best. Great venue. The acoustics are excellent and the cellar bar is actually practically laid out with attentive service. Most people though stay in the lobby ...

As a bona fide shopaholic (amongst other "holic" things), I must fight the crowd and do a shopping spree on Oxford Street. High street fashion is good value and aplenty here! Let the bargain hunting begin!

This Topshop location on Oxford Street is fabulously large and has a great selection...but it's maze-like layout makes it very easy to walk around in circles. For hours. And spend too much money. Oops!

4-stories high mega-store, with a whole floor dedicated to running (includes a 'running lab' too). Tip: The toilets are hidden and the 3rd floor behind a door with no sign on it.

    Artesian Bar

0.01 mi from The Langham, London
    2 reviews

The Artesian is a benchmark London hotel bar; somewhere you’ll be pleased to meet your high class escort for an aperitif. With vast chandeliers, decadent seating and a colonial / oriental vibe, this is probably one of London's prettiest bars. They have a huge cocktail list, but technically they're a rum bar, their rum ambassador (who doesn't have one?) has ...

If you like the idea of a visit to a Chinese Opium den in 1870's San Francisco, then this is about as close as you'll get in central London this century. The new underground cocktail haunt Lucky Pig has opened down a quiet back street in Fitzrovia. Crumbling walls decorated with Chinese parasols, shelves of Singer sewing machines, vintage trunks, ...

I was so excited to get to see the Greek Elgin Marbles. Unfortunately the day I was there was rainy and leaking in that room. Staff was busy covering them to protect them from water. The museum was still amazing and I was glad to have visited.

Unexpectedly, I found this wonderful art museum/gallery! Often overshadowed in the crowded museum spotlight for first time London visitors, the Wallace is a fantastic—and free, plus Soho-adjacent—showcase of more than 5,000 pieces from the 15th to 19th centuries, with especially strong holdings from 18th century France, and works from Old Masters including Rembrandt, Rubens, Van Dyck, Titian and Velázquez. Temporary exhibitions (like the recently completed Male Nude ...

This may well be the most important and accessible library of its kind. Also probably the best run. Slightly suffers from the policy of letting A-level students use the revision rooms to revise (i.e. you don't have to be reading something from their collection to grab a seat), but the manuscripts room and rare book rooms are unparalleled. Paradise for ...

The museum is pretty interesting. All their sculptures are of famous people made of wax. It is pretty cool to see the details up close of how much work gets put into making the figures look identical to the real person. Take your picture next to some figures in history, actors, or pop culture icons.
