Been driving by this place for months now... wondering.
Today I was called into work and after biking 6 miles, I finally stopped cursing and decided to pop in this little oyster of awesome on my way in.
Glad I did. Cute little patio. Decent breakfast... quickness on the service... and in their little garden I don't feel like I'm right off dirty ole El Cajon Blvd.
And the best part... the last leg to work is all down hill so no throwing up all that wonderful french toast!

The Living Room Cafe & Bistro has lots of seating inside, at tables, comfy chairs, and couches, as well as outside. The coffee was decent. I was there for a meeting, and there were a number of students studying, so I felt like I needed to keep my voice down.

The Living Room Coffee house, especially this one near University Heights, is like a Dorm students best friend.
It is a cozy space to eat good snacks and desserts, drink coffee, and study for your class just like when you were still living at home in high school.
It is very much like, well, er, ....a Living Room!
Great sofas and couches, antique furniture you might find in a living room. Some old fashion desks for your internet browsing, and the like!
They serve great breakfasts, like Omelettes, Skillet combo breakfasts, Waffles, French Toast, etc., (including Vegan) all under $10.
For lunch or dinner, there is Turkey Lasagna, Garlic Chicken Teriyaki Bowls, Pesto Tortellini, Chicken Burrito wrap, Quiche Lorraine, and "Hummus Amongus". Daily soups, sandwiches, salads, kids plates, souvenirs, and all sorts of Coffee drinks.
If you want water, they give you a glass of ice and point you to the animal faucet in the wall.
This is much better, comfier and home-like than the Green Mermaid corporate coffeehouse, with a much greater and diverse menu, and great coffee drinks, too!Recommended for:Vegetarian

The Living Room is one of my favorite cafes in San Diego. Its atmosphere, its food, and its drinks are simply the best. The Living Room offers an array of gourmet meals, pastries and drinks. Envision the living rooms of all your friends and family, and then combine them all into one place and you've got yourself The Living Room. It's oh so cozy and welcoming. Sit down with your laptop and a cup of Joe and study the day away. I personally think that their vegetable quiche is the best thing I've ever tasted. It takes quiche to a whole new level. It's that good. And on Sundays they offer a breakfast buffet: for about $10 you can have unlimited access to the array of breakfast staples and goodies one could only hope for. It's awesome. Oh, and they even had golden chocolate-covered strawberries! I've never seen that before, and I loved it. BEST CAFE!
