New York has 5th Avenue. LA has Rodeo Drive. Chicago has the Mag Mile. Those with money to spend will have plenty of choices, with shops like Burberry, Armani and Tiffany's lining the street. Start at the Old Water Tower building then work your way south towards the river. Once you've shopped your heart out, you can take a well deserved break in Millennium Park.

Not only interesting due to presence of numerous shops, cafes, beautiful architecture but you won't get tired walking the so called mile due to the ambiance. I was fortunate that our hotel was located right on the Mile :) TheMagnificent Mile is located in close proximity to public transit.Recommended for:

Fans of historic architecture won't want to miss a walk down the Magnificent Mile, a prominent section of Michigan Avenue. In addition to the rows of upscale shops at ground level, don't forget to look up at some of the most famous buildings in the city - the Trump Tower, the John Hancock Center, the Wrigley Building, the Tribune Tower and the Chicago Water Tower.Recommended for:

The Magnificent Mile a.k.a. North Michigan Ave is the "Fifth Ave" of Chicago. The area is a shopper's delight and it offers a broad range of retail stores from American Eagle Outfitters to Armani Exchange. There is something for everyone.Recommended for:

This is a must stop if you are in Chicago for the first time. Shop at some of the high end stores or dine at some of the top restaurants. In the summer, there are beautiful gardens that line the Magnificent Mile. During the holiday season, massive amounts of lights adorn the trees. It's quite a sight!Recommended for:

Like most of Chicago, everything is pretty big as is this street which is unusually
wide by most major city standards. It's lined up with huge buildings and loads of shopping.Recommended for:

While it is overcrowded and very touristy, its best to think of it as the worlds largest outdoor mall. It stretches for a mile with great shops and other malls inside of it, such as Water Tower, North Bridge, and 900 N. Michigan Ave. There's a lot of walking, traffic is terrible so be ready

Walked from one end to the other wiith lake michigan on the other side. I love architectur and the variety of buildings were great. Let's not forget about the stores and not too crowded which is also good. Leads to everything that is cool about chicago.

The Magnificent Mile is great for a lot of reasons. You can stay at beautiful historic hotels in this area. The area caters to tourists by offering several different trolley tours for easy accessible transportation. Shopping, food, and entertainment are around every corner. Within a few blocks you can find a multi-leveled Nike Store, the Hard Rock Cafe, and a movie theater all in walking distance from popular hotels.
The downside of this area is that most things are expensive in this area. Plan on dropping some cash when you visit Michigan Ave.

The greatest, fanciest, strip mall in Chicago. Worthwhile to see what it is, Magnificent Mile is shopping, with some historic interests in between. In the heart of downtown, you can't miss it. Grab some chicago style pizza to bring full circle the gluttony of spending.

If you like high end shopping, this is the place for you. Otherwise, it is just a normal street in town. You can walk the entire area in about an hour (minus time spent in the stores). Go on a pleasant day, and enjoy window shopping.
