The Maui Culinary Academy at the Community College (www.mauiculinary.com) in Kahului is a great place for cheap grinds! It's only open during the school year, but there are several food courts open from M-F that serve breakfast and lunch.

This place is one of Maui's best kept secrets! Maui Culinary Academy has trained many of Maui's and Hawaii's top chefs. It is only open during the school year and hours vary somewhat so check in at http://mauiculinary-campusdining.com/. On the bottom floor is the food court. It's pretty good food with lots of variety for low prices. Im also a teacher at UHMC so I eat here a lot and Im always surprised by how low the prices are.The real hidden gem is here is called The Class Act. Upstairs there is a fine dining room with ocean views where top level culinary students serve up gourmet five course meals. Bring your own wine and have an meal that will blow your mind for around $30. I love telling visitors to check this spot out. By eating here, you are also contributing to the students education. It is not open all the time and reservations are highly recommended. http://mauiculinary-campusdining.com/dining/classact.html
