A very chic and vibrant boutique hotel in a popular part of town, the MAve on Madison Avenue is a fun place to stay, especially for the price! The glass lobby is welcoming and friendly, completing the block's landscape with its bright walls and open gallery. Rooms are cofy and cozy, but still not without the touch of chicness. Flatscreen TVs, iHomes, and A/C are all included in rooms. Though not much of a lobby a few comfy armchairs are fine for lounging or relaxing after a big day. The lounge on the top floor offers a daily free breakfast. Check in on Foursquare for a free upgrade (if available) and be sure to reciprocate the staff's friendliness for other perks and fun suggestions of how to spend time in the neighborhood. And don't forget to ask for the free wifi password!Recommended for:

This place is small yet efficient. The rooms are modern and sparsely decorated, but the beds are comfortable, and the furniture, sleek. This is really more a place to crash than an oasis of luxury and relaxation. The amenities are minimal, including a fitness center with only a treadmill and an exercise bike. People usually don't stay here for more than a day or two, but if you're in town for a little longer, the hotel makes an effort to upgrade you to a more spacious room. The hotel is in a great location, just blocks from the delicious burger joint Shake Shack, the Fashion District, Chelsea, Gramercy Park and Murray Hill. Tons of great food options and sights are within walking distance, making this boutique hotel a great value.Recommended for:

One of my favorite things about this hotel is the art gallery next to the front desk – it kind of sets the tone for the rest of the hotel. Being a fairly new hotel with only several years on it, I really appreciated the modern fixtures in the bathrooms such as the flat shower heads and deep sinks.
I like that guests are offered complimentary robes – it makes you feel pampered and like you’re actually on vacation. There is also wifi access free of charge which is a must for me and complimentary breakfast which you can eat on their 12th floor lounge.
Their biggest room is their king-bed suite which offers the most space and the only room that comes with a coffee & tea maker – you’ll have to request one in other rooms. You could fit a 3rd person by requesting a cot (with an extra charge).

If you are looking for an affordable place to stay in NYC, the MAve is a great deal. Conveniently located in the Flatiron District with easy access to Midtown, Chelsea, and Union Square, the MAve is a great location from which to explore the city. Rooms are small and pretty utilitarian, but who wants to hang out in their room in NY?
