I love hotels that have a comfortable feel, lighting, lobby culture, excellent food and a wine list. I love the Mercer because the lobby is amazing. Juice is by Organic Avenue and the food by Jean-Georges Vongerichten is great.

St. Patrick's Cathedral is magnificent. It makes you feel so small, in the same way oceans or mountains do. The architecture is intricate and powerful. This is a must see for anyone and everyone.

Uniqlo is my favorite clothing store. Hip, cheap and well made, Uniqlo's offerings serve as the basis of my daily street wear. While always on the cutting edge of fashion, I find there selection to be better made that H&M and their cut fits much better on my frame. I recommend coming here for work basics as well as some ...

Good coffee, free wifi, and delicious snacks all in the name of a good cause. Okay, so the free wifi is just for your benefit, but the sales of food, drink, and the many used books lining the walls go to benefit the Housing Works charity. I love it almost as much for NOT being Starbucks as for being itself. ...

Filled with skeletons, fossils and taxidermy, mounted insects and neat mineral samples, the Evolution Store is a little bit like a natural history museum, with the catch being that when you're done, you can actually buy pieces of the collection. Want a whole human skeleton and have some money to spend? It's yours. Need a mounted wombat to hang on ...

On a corner of West Houston, this is an old classic NYC cinema concentrating on indie films. Hear the rumble of the subway compete with the movie and grab a snack at the cafe...you can almost imagine Woody Allen and Diane Keaton standing in line next to you.

What a bookstore should be -- intimate and independent with a wafting scent of coffee. A thinking man / woman's bookstore with nice giveaway mini-books made from the remains of small batch printed books.

Despite the fact that this once bohemian quarter of warehouses converted into artists' lofts has now been overrun by chains, luxury brands and the like, it's still hip and full do unique little businesses if you search for them. A fun place to stroll and explore during the day and even more so at night.

Laduree is always a winner and I'd rate every location I've visited in Paris as a 5 star. This locations serves the same great macaroons but the service lags vs. the Parisian outlets and the tea / dining area feels a bit forced and tired in Soho. Perhaps Laduree should consider regional reinvention / adaptation to keep itself fresh and ...

One of the best neighborhoods in the city. This is Soho without the commercialism. Popular with Europeans, this is a great neighborhood filled with mom and pop boutiques and restaurants. Less commercial than Soho. A little more refined than the Lower East Side. Highly recommended and not quite the zoo that you'll find in Soho.

A relaxed bar with a nightlife feel, especially as it gets late. Navajo oilskin paintings and deer horns hang on the walls and a suspended canoe glows above the bar give the spot a rustic lodge vibe. Always be on the lookout for a celebrities sipping a casual cocktail near by.
