I've been coming here for 3 day weekends, once a year for the last 5 years. This place is beautiful and interesting to just to explore. I have been to many different rooms here and there are many different room layouts. A tour through here and you will see that the hotel was designed with differently designed sections throughout. I have only had the Sunday buffet here and it was excellent. It offers freshly made omelets and waffles, seafood, fruits, and meats.
Service: Great. From the front desk to the servers at the pool, they are all super. They make great drinks poolside as well.
Parking: Not bad. Valet(I never valet anywhere so use at your own risk), street (read the signs), or parking structure
*Certain parts of this place give me the chills. I've gone ghost hunting here twice but didn't find anything. Or maybe I did find something but... i don't know go see for yourself

My review is not based on the quality of the room or the beautiful historic background that's available here at the Mission Inn Hotel. Unfortunately, it's based on my negative experience over daylight saving weekend.
It's surprisingly busy here at Mission Inn, who would've known a hotel to be this busy in Riverside?! I attempted to check-in around 2 pm where I was then informed that their check-in time changed to 4 pm this week. I never gotten any notification and literally received an email a couple of days ago stating check-in was 3 pm. If I knew this, I might have not booked with Mission Inn because I planned to get ready at the hotel for a wedding that is starting at 4 pm. My wonderful weekend in Riverside is starting off poorly....
As I kept checking back with the staff for available rooms, I finally got a room. I asked again about check-in and this time she stated 3 pm...at this point, I was furious because I felt like I was lied to by the first guy. It seemed like he was using the 4 pm excuse to cover themselves. She apologized and stated she'll clear it up.
I received a phone call a little bit later from her stating that the check-in time was 4 pm and that the policy changed earlier this week. After this mix up, I still did not feel happy with their service. Not only check-in was 4 pm, checkout is noon and for the first time, I was denied for a late checkout. How busy can they be for a Sunday? Seriously?! I even lost an hour because of daylight saving and they couldn't even accommodate.
Bottom line: Mission Inn Hotel did not accommodate anything for me that weekend and checking me in at 3 pm was nothing. They wanted to make me feel like they were doing me a favor. I say, you already screwed up and lost any future business with me. My blood boils just thinking about it!

I lived nearby this place for so long and finally went. I came here during Christmas season since I heard so many good things about their Christmas decorations. The lights are gorgeous, and the place is packed with people walking everywhere. They have small vendors selling food and a small little ice rink to go ice skating. This place is definitely a place to go to for a night walk to celebrate the Christmas season! Also I saw a few people taking the horse carriage rides! They look like little Cinderella carriages with Christmas lights all around.
Parking can be hard to find. But if you get a meter at night, it's free I believe after 7 or 8pm. Check out my Christmas pictures I added btw to see how pretty it is!

Lovely historic hotel - I think a couple of presidents actually held their wedding here. This is a popular spot for Inland Empire residents to get married at. There is much to explore - it's a nice place to wander around, especially during Christmas. They decorate the entire hotel and it's very festive! You get a lot of college kids and families coming out during the holiday season to hang out around here and also check out the festivities in downtown (live music, vendors who sell things like coffee/hot chocolate and popcorn/donuts/sweets, etc.).Recommended for:Family Travelers
