I've walked past this art deco hotel for years without ever setting foot inside. On a recent work trip to NYC, I stayed here and finally figured out what it's all about. Recently renovated, the beds are super comfortable and the rooms have the same cool art deco feel as the lobby. The location, steps away from the A train at 34th street, is convenient. They have free wifi, which is also very important for me. The major bummer is that there is no room service, no in-room coffee and tea, even, which necessitates getting dressed and going out just for that first cup of delicious hotness in the morning. The closest place is the Tick-Tock Diner, which is overpriced and chaotic. All in all, the prices are reasonable here, the location great, and did I mention the cool view from my 22nd floor room?Recommended for:

What I liked about this place is the location and price. The hotel rooms were much too small but hey, it's ny and it's cheap so I'm ok with it. The hotel itself is very large and pretty chaotic. The walk to the broadway area wasn't too bad...maybe 15-20 minutes at a leisure pace. The walk to Macy's was about 7 minutes. Madison Square Gardens was about minutes so location is good.
