This is not a Farmer's Market in the original sense - more like a quirky outdoor cafeteria with high quality food stands. The stands encompass both fresh produce and prepared foods (like Bryan's Pit BBQ, mmmm), and there is a ton of seating space to eat your meal. Everything is very fresh, though a few stands looked better than others: try The French Crepe Company, the Gumbo Pot, and Bob's Coffee & Donuts.

I took my gf here on our second date for drinks at the little bar in the back. Great date spot :)

    LOVED this place!
Can't believe in all of my years of going to Los Angeles I never before went to the Farmer's Market.
There were many selections of food and merchandise to be had. Be forewarned that some places do not take credit/debit and if they do, there may be a minimum purchase. Some places also do not take $50 or $100 bills.

As part of a 1941 expansion and reconstruction project the landmark Clock Tower was erected at Farmers Market. The 2002 opening of an adjoining shopping center, The Grove, and the prevalence of weekend "farmers' markets" throughout the Los Angeles area have diminished Farmers Market's quaintness. However, I have friends who I sometimes believe, who insist that a number of the small eating-places within Farmers Market make any trip there worthwhile.

This is great people watching area. Stars come here to be nondescript and just be. There are lots of great little places to try from pizza to Indonesian to Cajun. There are also a couple of bakeries and candy shops to satisfy your sweet tooth.
