The amazing Palace of the Lost City is one of four hotels located within the Sun City compound. The Palace is luxurious with very posh amenities. The building itself is quite incredible with mosaics telling stories of the African culture and tusk-like decorative structures throughout the property.
Guests of the Palace has access to a massive swimming pool that generates its own waves, the golf course (do watch out for the water hazards as they could be hazardous with a life crocrodile here and there) a casino and various sporting amenities like cricket and tennis.
The best feature of the Palace?! Its vicinity to the Pilanesberg Game Reserve. All Big Fives are represented here and getting to the safari is an easy day trip from the hotel!
This Sun City resort did provide me with one of my best memories of being in awe constently: in awe of the design, in awe of the architecture, in awe of the wonderful service, in awe of the fantastic amenities, and in awe of the relationship between human and wildlife.Recommended for:

It is safe to say that there is no other place on earth like The Palace of the Lost City. I expected the somewhat cheesy luxury that is so often associated with Las Vegas, but this is no Vegas! The Palace of the Lost City offers totally over-the-top elegance and service to match. In Las Vegas, everything seems designed to funnel visitors into the casinos and, while The Palace does have a casino, it is only a small part of the vast array of amenities and activities offered. There are 2 world class golf courses, a full sized water park, walking paths, hiking trails, botanical gardens, shopping, a cultural museum, just to name a few. The hotel can also arrange trips to nearby Pilanesburg National Park for game viewing, elephant back safaris and balloon rides. The hotel provides on-call transportation to every area of Sun City, but to really be able to savor all there is to offer, put on some comfortable shoes, get a map from the concierge and start walking!
Don't miss the breakfast buffet which is just as sumptuously eye-popping as everything else in The Palace of the Lost City.
Without a doubt, even a one night stay at the Palace of the Lost City will do considerable damage to the budget, but we think it is well worth the sacrifice.
