The Petra Marriot Hotel was far away from Petra, but it also sat on the top of the ridge that gave it amazing views of the valley and great sunsets. You can make out Nabi Musa, thought to be the tomb of Moses, on the ridge across the valley. It's brilliantly lit at sunrise.
The restaurant had a great buffet with a mix of local and european dishes. The room was quite nice.
At night, you can pay extra to have a bedouin-style dinner, sitting in the tents and around the fire. I didn't try that though because it was a bit expensive.
