Came here for a team lunch and I can't believe I didn't know about this place before! Organic and healthy food. I'll have to come back to try their smoothies! The interior is nice with the high ceiling; plus they repurpose bottles for the water glasses, love it!

We got the spring rolls to share -- tofu and veggies inside with a peanut sauce. Yum!

I liked the chicken avocado panini.

Healthy and tasty food. You won't go hungry. Excellent views from the pier location. Eat inside or on a covered and heated patio.

they use blue bottle coffee - Big plus.
they have baked calories selection covering the range between healthy to sinful.
they have both indoor and outdoor sitting - perfect for moody SF's weather.
service was polite, prompt and hassle free.

I heart the California Plant burger with avocado and white cheddar. And I'm a meat eater! Seriously, it's worth a try. The wild mushroom pizza is also very yummy. When the weather's nice, a seat by the water makes for a great lunch date.

On Behind the Actor's Studio, "Phil Dunphy" (Modern Family) was asked what's one thing he hates, and his response was "vegetables." If you can relate, read no further and avoid this place like the plague! If you like your veggies, read on...
The swiss mushroom plant burger is tasty. Who would think a beet, lentil, mushroom, etc. patty could taste so good and 'meaty'? The BBQ chicken pizza was so so, with the chicken sausage tasting a little strange. The sauce and crust were good, and i'd prob try a different pie next time. They have several entrees to chose from also aside from pizza and burgers. A good variety depending on your tastes, and not all just vegetarian dishes. The salads are good. They have several freshly squeezed fruit/veggie drink cocktails that are unique, and not as sweet and sugary as Jamba Juice. Check this place out if you feel guilty after a weekend of beer and late night pizza and wings, or are just generally a healthy eater!

Gayle and I decided to have a day date in the City last Saturday. We took BART to the Embarcadero Station, walked around the Ferry Building (and the surrounding market) and headed down towards the Filbert Steps. I had a romantic lunch at Julius Castle in mind, but that they are no more. As we passed The Plant Organic Cafe, the waterside dining and interesting menu caught our attention.

First of all, the service model came up short in the few places. The first issue was one of the announced special (which our waiter repeated twice) that was announced to be not yet ready after I ordered. The second was at the bakery counter (after our meal) when a combined order ahead of us ground the line to a complete halt for several minutes. What was more irritating was how oblivious the counter person and other employees were to the situation. Finally we asked that a second line open up while the multi-ordering customer continued to pull individual papers and money out of his envelope.

At the same my chicken/blue cheese pizza and Gayle's omelet (it was brunch time) was fabulous. The waiter was nice, the service and food came out quickly, and it was great to be enjoying our meal by the water. So as a couple, we had a nice romantic scenic meal and some quality time together. And sometimes, that transcends the occasional service lapses.

This place has the best vegan hazelnut cake on the planet and a lot of good vegan dishes. Pretty much all their baked goods are great. The location is also great if you want to stop by while strolling on the Pier.
