The Plaza

5th Ave at Central Park South, New York, NY 10019

The Plaza Hotel is another of New York's great luxury palaces. It excels the Waldorf-Astoria in location: it stands magnificently at the southeast corner of Central Park along Fifth Avenue. Mostly I think of it as the hotel where Kevin Arnold spends his week in New York during Home Alone 2.

Through a miracle in modern technology, every person who has ever ice skated here is automatically transported to starring in their own film. The film is usually a Cary Grant/Katherine Hepburn sort of movie (so, be warned you very well might be ice skating in black and white), but it can be a slapstick family comedy, too. Or a romantic ...

This place STAYS busy. It's in the heart of Times Square, so all the tourist go there. We didn't eat there so I can only recommended going there for the drinks. We sat at the bar and had a ball. The bartenders are super talented. They keep you entertained with tricks and jokes. Not to mention, you can take home ...

How fun it is to immerse self in the colorful world of the M&Ms! Great location in Time Square, cannot miss it...and should not miss it if just to pop in to see Yellow & Red doing their New Yorker thing and Green, aptly, as Miss Statue of Liberty. the M&Ms World is one of those places that really could ...

A great place to experience great architecture while shopping in a classic department store at its original location on Fifth Avenue next to St.Patrick's Cathedral. You might want to go pray before or after spending at Saks. Excellent men's department with top notch tailors . Make it a visit just after lunch around 2P for best service. Less crowded.

I lived a block and a half from Lincoln Center on the upper west side. My two favorite memories are the sound of the kids from Julliard practicing their scales and the week that David Blaine spent underwater in a globe-shaped tank, trying to break the record for time underwater.

Way better than the Empire State for views and short lines. From their observation deck you can see Central Park and take a great picture of the Empire State Building.

Beautiful building with 93 highly prized coops, prestigious location, wealthy and famous residents. Located on Central Park, this building was built in 1884 with 24 inch thick outer walls, tall ceilings, large rooms with multiple fireplaces in each apartment and a large, private courtyard. It was located so far out of tow at that time it was like living in ...

One of the better cocktail bars I've ever been. It's hidden in Central Station, your eyes have to get used to the light (or absence of) but then you will totally relax with a wonderful cocktail in your hand.

It's essentially a good way to get a view of the city, and not much more. Like the staten island ferry, its about the ride, not the destination (both or which are worth little more than a quick look around before hopping back on board their respective transports).

On a warm night, come up here for some drinks and won tons. The food menu has a variety of Asian dishes, which you wouldn't expect here, but it's actually not bad. The Shops at Columbus Circle is a hidden, upscale mall seemingly designed to be maximally convenient for those actually living in Manhattan. There's a Whole Foods at the basement level and a good running store on the second level. On the top level, there are several restaurants with views of Columbus Circle.
