The Red Tree House

Culiacan 6 | Colonia Condesa, Mexico City 06100, Mexico

The Red Tree House, located in the vibrant La Condesa neighborhood, actually turns out to be mainly yellow with red accents. Three different staffers, along with a Labrador named Abril (April), immediately made me feel welcome in the cheerful and reasonably priced hotel. I'm lucky to live at one block from this park. I love spending time there. My favorite is going with my dog and meet 1000 people doing the same. It's a very relaxing place, live music very often.

A horse drawn buggy pulls you thru Henequen fields. The ride is bumpy but worth the trip. Swiming in a cenote is unique experience. Ask for a tour in Merida.

One of the most well curated and well laid out museums I have ever seen. Come on the early side and prepare to spend AT LEAST 3-4 hours here. There is certainly enough to see. This museum plus a nice leisurely stroll through Chapultepec Park is a perfect Mexico City day.

There is NOTHING like the Plaza de la Constitución on the Mexican Independence Day! The parades, the dances, the sparklers, singers, and festivities. Definitely something to see if you are near the Plaza on that day in September.

This tall statue with the golden bronze Angel atop it represents the Independence of Mexico, and is centrally located in Mexico City, not far from the Zona Rosa nightlife district and the US Embassy, with commercial and shopping, and international hotels within walking distance.

Supported by Napolean III of France, Maximillian was the youngest son of Austrian (Hapsburgh) Emperor Franz Josef. Through a bizarre series of events, he was 'elected' by the citizens of Mexico to ne THEIR Emperor. He reproduced his castle (MIRAMAR) that was in Trieste (now Italy) on Chapultapec Hill at what was the West End of the city in 1850. ...

Come here to gaze upon Diego Rivera's incredible murals. These intricate massive paintings show the history of Mexico (both the good and the bad). A highlight of Mexico City that also happens to be free. Getting a guide is recommended as there is so much going on in the murals context helps put it into perspective.

If you like the film 'Nacho Libre' or anything that is quintessentially Mexican, you'll love the sports theater that is 'La Luche Libre' i.e, (Mexican Wrestling). The closer your seat to the ring, the more likely you are to become part of the action and watching the crowd react to the luchadores is almost as much fun as watching the ...
