So adorable! Right in the heart of hollywood! It's like a little apartment w a kitchenette. The counter even has a stripper pole (although I'm sure it's meant for some structural support) record players! I love the restaurant below called Cleo's. Just a few minutes walk to the nightclubs or the W hotel

The Redbury just opened in September 2010 and is part of the sbe family (SLS Beverly Hills). They are centrally located at Hollywood and Vine, and the hotel is amazing! The hotel exudes a bohemian, retro, Old Hollywood feel, and similar to the SLS in Beverly Hills, there's interesting and unexpected decor and art pieces at every turn of the hotel. If you're not looking at rich red walls as you walk along the hotel, you could be looking at an entire wall dedicated to a close up of Marilyn Manroe. A lot of the furniture and decor arepieces from Restoration Hardware which I love. My girlfriends and I stayed in the Redbury Signature Flat which is their largest suite. It was amazing! Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, an awesome living room area and a turntable for old school music. There was also a kitchen although this suite is more for partying than cooking (...I mean, you're in the middle of Hollywood...why are you cooking anyway!). We stayed here the night before my girlfriend's wedding, and the suite was a perfect size for five girls, a makeup artist and a hairdresser the next morning. I highly recommend The Redbury if you're looking for a hotel that's more unique and boutique-y, and that is in a great location!

Really cute boutique hotel! All of the rooms are supposed to be like studio apartments, so you have a nice little kitchen and small living room. The bed was super comfy! I loved that there was an working record player in our room, and there was a Beach Boys record, yay!

I love this hotel because it’s snazzy and super deluxe without being corporate. There’s an artsy, rock n’ roll vibe to the rooms which kind of make it feel like a rich friend’s apartment. The bedrooms are separated from the living room, and the kitchen is very modern. There’s even a tiny washer/dryer in a closet--so handy! The hotel restaurant Cleo downstairs has amazing food and unbelievable cocktails (though pretty expensive, and it gets loud). The neighborhood around the hotel is also pretty hip with some good bars and fancy sushi. I miss having a pool, but the enclosed patio garden is relaxing for lounging around and you can get drinks and food there too--much quieter than the restaurant! There’s a cute little “library bar” right off it too where you can play pool. I would definitely say this place is “posh” in a rockin’ kind of way.

Talk about location! For many people, the corner of Hollywood & Vine epitomizes Hollywood itself, making the Redbury prime real estate. And because it’s owned by hip lifestyle brand SBE, it also has the cool factor. With only 57 rooms, and the smallest ones starting at 750 square feet, it has the feel of a hip Hollywood apartment.
Other pluses include the Mediterranean-inspired restaurant Cleo, and the low-key Library Bar, where there’s free live music from up-and-coming bands on Wednesday nights. Unlike many SBE nightlife venues, there’s no guest list drama; though they do ask for RSVPs so they ensure there’s enough seating. On the downside, there’s no pool or hot tub, though guests are allowed to use the one at SLS in Beverly Hills. There’s also no spa, but they can arrange for in-room services. Food delivery is available from Cleo or nearby Asian-fusion eatery Katsuya.

On the plus side: the central Hollywood location, an alternative to a standard hotel experience as the suites are furnished more like apartments - and there's alot to be said for waking up in the morning and making a cup of drinkable coffee for yourself, rather than having to sit in some grim hotel restaurant. On the minus side: the decor is trying so hard to be funky and while it's not exactly unpleasant (fun and quirky are the words which spring to mind), the whole playful bordello look is so over; location-wise unless you've got a reason to be here, it's not the best place to stay in the city. I usually think anywhere recommended as 'hot' by Conde Nast Traveler is the kiss of death and this property has met with that dubious acknowledgement.
