The Ritz is fabulous, no doubt about it. The lobby is pristine and magnificent with wood, marble, glass and gold trim. The rooms look stunning on their Web site, but mine was just really nice. It seemed standard – two white beds, piles of pillows, a chair and desk, etc., not really Ritzy. But the bathroom made up for it. ...

Avoid the lines at Georgetown cupcake and head toward the waterfront. Oh, wait...you'll often find shorter lines outside of Baked & Wired too. They sell some of the better coffee in DC, so waltz right past the lines to the right and grab yourself a cup. In addition, on that side of the store you'll find non-cupcake baked goods. I ...Popular withFoodiesBudgetLocal

Blues Alley is the quintessential jazz club. It's dark and brooding and the perfect venue to enjoy old school, straight ahead, and smooth jazz and vocals. The club pays homage to the jazz and supper clubs of the 20s with some of today's jazz performers.Popular withAdventureNightlifeLocal

The shrimp dish is delicious. I am not quite sure what is was because the place was so dark, but it was good and everyone was using the bread on the table to sop up the buttery goodness that was left over. Try to find a table away from the door on busy nights because it can get a bit ...Popular withFoodiesTrendstersNightlife

I thought Clyde's was alright. The menu didn't seem to have anything that jumped out at me. The crab cake was alright. The sauce for the bolognese was yummy. The server was very polite, but not very attentive. The food took a long time to arrive, both for appetizers and entrees. The drinks took a while as well. It was ...

The frosting to cake ratio is perfect. Frosting is by far my favorite thing about cake. I used to think I could never have too much, or it could never be too sweet, until I tried some cupcakes from other cupcake bakeries. I usually get a single cupcake to go and eat it while I'm walking down the street. At ...Popular withFoodiesStudentsTrendsters

Outstanding Italian restaurant in Georgetown. The food was amazing and the wine choices were very reasonable. If you're looking for Italian around this area, I'd recommend this place or La Perla up Pennsylvania if you want to spend a little more money.Popular withFoodiesTrendsters

Formerly called Farmers and Fishers, Farmers Fishers Bakers is the replacement establishment and now boasts a delicious brunch and sushi menu. I came for dinner and was unimpressed by the service; service was slow and servers didn't know much about the meny (they clearly need work in this area). However, the food was delicious. I had a seared ahi tuna ...Popular withBudgetFoodiesTrendsters

So Filomena gets a fair amount of buzz on TV and such for being one of DC's better Italian restaurants. Maybe I got them on an off day but frankly I was underwhelmed. The food was ok, but nothing special. The ambiance was loud and kitsch. They have a lunch buffet, which I guess could make it a decent option ...

There's no better view of Georgetown's Potomac riverfront than from the patio bar here. Sit out and watch the crew teams row and boaters docking. The large interior space is a popular party spot. To be honest, I've never paid that much attention to the food!Popular withBusinessNightlifeFamilies

Years back, this was my first real introduction to Vietnamese cuisine. The food was always so good and so diverse, that I became a bought and sold devotee and tend to compare all other Vietnamese food back to here. The service, menu, location and prices are outstanding. Check out their business lunch specials - a deal! The 4 out of ...

This classic French bistro has been a home for French speakers since the 1970s. The restaurant is open quite late by D.C. standards -- 3 a.m. on weekdays, later on weekends. The little tables amidst the vintage posters make for cozy conversation. Oh, and the mousse au chocolat is my favorite!Popular withNightlifeFoodies

Communities near the Chesapeake Bay are known for crab, not lobster. So if you have a sudden hankering for New England style seafood, head to Luke's. Yeah, they inevitably have a crab roll. But I'd grab a lobster grilled cheese or a New England clam chowder for the road.Popular withFoodiesStudentsBudget

Very quaint spot for petit déjeuner. I swear the French have figured out how to put sunshine in orange juice. Service was spotty, the omelet wasn't anything extraordinary, but the baguette and juice put me right back into a Parisian café. Thank you, Monsieur L'Enfant, for putting a bit of Paris in the USA.Popular withAdventureFoodiesLocal

Although Serendipity 3 (3 for number of owners) boasts a delicious frozen hot chocolate (sounds like room temperature chocolate to me) I only went there for a drink. The desserts look scrumptious but very expensive. Who pays $19 for a banana split!? That's just outrageous!
