Classy. Lavish. Luxurious. Opulent. Magnificent. Yes, I really said all of those words together in description of this world-class elegance. I mean, it’s not the ‘desert oasis’ that are most other glorious Phoenix/Scottsdale resorts. It’s different. I will relate it to a hotel I stayed at in Madrid, Spain. The lounge/tea room at this Ritz-Carlton mirrors that refined style. You wait for your room information at a table with a cocktail, not in a line in a lobby. From the moment I walked in until my sad departure, I was taken care of hand and foot. This hotel is the gentleman that opens the door for you. Sitting in the center of the fashionable Biltmore area of Phoenix, the Ritz-Carlton is close to upscale shopping and dining; not to mention some pretty cool dive bars. It’s all in the details- from the crystal chandeliers to the flowers on the bed, it doesn’t get more polished than this.

The Hotel was splendid, of course. It had lots of amenities. It made me feel a little uncomfortable. I have my fair share of tattoos and not famous. The more the staff "tried" the worse I felt. (And, I didn't say a thing about the way I felt). We do stay in the high end hotels but this was the worst! I do have to say the bed was amazingly soft and comfortable. It was just had a snobby feel to it but the hotel room itself was very nice!Recommended for:Luxury Travelers

If you need to mix business with pleasure, walk into the Ritz. Hop out at the front door and be greeted by 4 gentleman holding 4 separate doors like a baller. I swear, the entire hotel is made of marble, including the toilets. Ok, I made that last part about the toilets up, but you get the point. The restaurant bar will be packed with casual business meetings, great staff, good drinks, and good food. My favorite quality of the Ritz is the staff. You know sometimes you ask a random staff member for help and they spend 15 minutes trying to find the person to assist you when they could have gotten it done in 5 minutes if they did it themselves? Well, they do it themselves here, it doesn't matter who you ask. They get it done! The area is awesome too. Biltmore shops across the way. I highly recommend the Havannah Cafe about a mile down the road. Authentic cuban style dishes, killer!Recommended for:Business Travelers

Staying at the Ritz made me feel like I was transported to an opulent renaissance mansion on the east coast; I don’t think there is a place anything like it in Phoenix. The service here is the definition of class. Every staff member was extremely professional, friendly and offered to go above and beyond.
Simply stepping through the doors I felt welcomed and as though I was about to taken well care of. The Ritz wasn’t just about the first impression either; the room was extremely plush and decorated just as intricately as the lobby downstairs. To describe without a description, I noticed that a certain NFL team was staying at the same time I was. This place has a certain level of class that’s hard to describe.
I’d also recommend the Ritz for the location. 32nd St. and Camelback is right across from the Biltmore shops and is surrounded by some really amazing restaurants within walking distance. To match the classy, but not stuffy vibe of the Ritz, I’d recommend drinks across the way at Merc Bar.
