The Hotel was splendid, of course. It had lots of amenities. It made me feel a little uncomfortable. I have my fair share of tattoos and not famous. The more the staff "tried" the worse I felt. (And, I didn't say a thing about the way I felt). We do stay in the high end hotels but this was the ...

Free community gardens and art spaces now fill up a vacant lot at the corner of Central Ave and Indian School Road. Waitress at the George and Dragon pub across the street loves the beautifying community outreach project and told us she had just applied for her own lot. Dirt, fertilizer and water are provided - residents just provide seeds ...

Our friend is a tour guide for Camelback, and he took us up. It was a great hike, medium intensity and great views! I'd do it again in a heart beat!

I love the Phoenix Zoo and I go several times a year. Its a pretty big zoo with lots of animals, special exhibits and events. You definitely want to have lunch, either bring your own or buy it at one of the restaurants, and have a picnic by the water and monkey island.

Downtown Phoenix is a grid which makes it a lot easier to navigate than some cities back east. There are a lot of one way roads, but there are also a lot of signs to help you get wherever you are going. It's a nice place to visit.

They have four floors of exhibits to explore, to get your hands on stuff, and to learn at your own pace. If you have young kids, the Arizona Science Center is a must visit when in Phoenix. We visited over the weekend, dropped in twice, and never lacked for new things to do. There is wonderful, FUN, learning for kids ...

The Arizona Diamondbacks may not be the best team in the league this year but their glorious Chase Field is a must visit this summer. Thankfully, the huge roof that covers the stadium can open--to expose the beautiful Arizona night sky featuring sparkling stars--and it can close, protecting our faces from melting in the extreme afternoon summer heat. Day or ...

Piestewa Peak has many hiking trails you can take to explore this gorgeous mountain. The Summit Trail is what I usually take for a quick workout to get to the summit of the mountain. This view at the top is breakthtaking. Go there early because the trail gets crowded fast. :)

Hiking in the desert is never easy, but the scenery is beautiful. This trail is no exception. It gives great vistas from many spots and has all that desert culture to keep you occupied. You will need two things for this hike. First, lots of water, I can never stress that enough. You will also want to bring you camera.

Solid park with ponds, picnic pavilions, fields and athletic courts, and playgrounds. Lots of green grass here, which is rare in Phoenix. There's also the "Enchanted Island" amusement park inside the park itself, which has kids-themed carnival rides.
