The Ritz-Carlton

600 Stockton Street, San Francisco, CA 94108
5
16 reviews

An impeccable European style hotel in San Francisco, very smart and subdued, no kitschy props to offend, so comfortable. Centrally located but just tucked away from the hurly burly and hoi poloi. On the small side for a large hotel, with at least a semblance of intimacy. Food is up to standards too.

    Plentea

    0.18 mi from The Ritz-Carlton

I love this place! This is one of my most memorable bubble tea experiences because 1) I found out about this place through an LA food blogger on Instagram, 2) you get to keep the bottles they serve the bubble tea in, and 3) by doing so, they promote sustainability! The place is also super chic and modern. The location ...

Came here for a birthday party, where it is a lovely Asian Fusion restuarant in downtown SJ. The food was a great mix of sweet, spicy, and exotic. Presentation was beautiful, which also gave the food a more "modern" look. Decor is "romantic" dark, with little lighting. It's a great place to take a date. There is full bar next ...

This place gets pretty packed during lunch hours. There's almost never any seats available. But, the food is so delicious and comforting, especially during fall/winter! It just hits the spot.

I don't think this will become a regular drinking place on my list, but it's a place everyone has to visit once. Definitely a staple of SF culture. Highly recommend getting the lava bowl, just be careful!

I suppose that if I were to recommend a restaurant in Chinatown, it'd be R&G Lounge. This would be based on two factors: 1) The other restaurants in the neighborhood are just okay and 2) That salt and pepper crab. Now, don't think that this will be a cheap meal because you're in Chinatown and not in the Financial District. ...

There are a couple of spots in the city that offer remarkably stunning views. Top of the Mark is one of them, and most tourists don't know about it. It's definitely a great spot for a date! The live music is also great. They have an enormous selection of martinis to choose from. Martinis are all $13. If you come ...

Innovative items like geranium ice cream and sea urchin with asparagus create not just a luxurious dining experience, but a slightly adventurous one as well. With just 22 seats, you'll need to book far in advance, but the experience will be well worth it. Fresh-baked bread is a diner favorite, as is their vegetarian tasting menu. Since they do a ...

Shopping in Union Square? Hungry? Hop over here for some delish southern food and drinks! It's more of a hipster bar than a cafe, as you may expect from a southern food joint. A+ for the buttermilk fried chicken that was tender and not greasy and didn't have that over-breaded heaviness to it. Came with jalapeño cornbread, creamed collards, summer ...

WOW. If I ever choose to eat salads for the rest of my life, I wouldn’t mind having their trout salad. Yes, it’s $19 for their salad but trust me, it’s filling!!! The only thing is the dressing does get on the saltier side the farther you get into your meal, but it goes perfectly with bread…which by the way ...

I'm on the lookout for a seductive bowl of ramen — one with porky broth slippery from boiling kilos of bones all day. Well, what I had here wasn't the rich and slick bowl of ramen I expected. However it was a tasty, MSG-free bowl of goodness with bouncy noodles. Toppings of green onion, hard boiled egg, roasted pork or ...

As far as vegetarian/vegan in SF goes, this isn't the best, but it's a decent option and one that has been around for a long time. I guess that's why I keep coming back. A few years ago, I would have probably given it a higher rating, but there are so many other great veg places in the city. There ...

A little bit of my childhood. I had to build up a tolerance to the oil of the chicken katsu plate with all the trimmings. Now, older and healthier, I opt instead for the barbecue chicken with brown rice and tossed salad. (I guess this is growing up.) This location, despite the outside appearance, is clean and the staff are ...

For dinner, we decided to venture into the wonderful land of Chinatown. I think it was pretty obvious we were looking for food, and we just decided ...

The rare 2 story burrito place! This is in between FiDi, ChinaTown, French Bistros, Irish Bars, and Fancy shopping. The place is surrounded by glass and window seats, with an upstairs mezzanine. So you can watch people while you wolf down a 2 pound burrito, or they can watch you with hungry eyes as they pass by. I go for ...
