Afternoon Tea at the Ritz is exquisite. The Ritz staff are very attentive. The sandwiches are lovely and they keep on coming out with more. The freshly baked scones with cream and jam are the highlight but leave enough room for the pastries and the cake trolley that comes round with more delights. Getting dressed up smart and spending the afternoon eating and talking with friends is really a treat.

Still Ritzy after all these years. The Ritz London is a glamourous hotel in an old world way. And there are many things old world about it. For example, the dress code. Guests are requested to be in proper attires meaning no shorts, jeans, flip flops and runners.
I completely respect and agree with this dress code as one should be properly attired and respectful of the ambiance of the hotel especially when in the public areas. To me, that is refreshing to see.
They do allow hotel guests to scurry pass the lobby area in their "traveling/sightseeing" clothes, which I do find comical. BUT, having to change into proper clothing (no jeans or tshirts) when just to head down to the dining room for breakfast, well, that could be tedious.
Nevertheless, The Ritz London IS fabulous and the tea set is wonderful. Rooms are traditionally decorated and almost everything is logo'ed (I did say old world). A big yes to Hermes bath products!

the original English Afternoon tea. If you have heard of the saying "putting on the Ritz" this is the place they refer to. London's original high tea. Theres a 1920s feel to this hotel, located right on Piccadilly. If you stay at this hotel, sneak out for a meal at the Wolesely - close by, its a wonderful restaurant nearby.
