At arrival we were only disappointed. No one at the door to welcome us or help us. We find the way to the reception ourself (not that it is hard, the lobby is small) and expected a kind of personal checkin. This is the Royal right? We both were given a paper to fill in, should sit down at a table and come back when we were ready. We weren't even offered a drink! We had nicer check-ins....
When we got back with our paper a standerd check-in was waiting for us. They did however congratulate us on our honeymoon. Still no drinks where offered.

Ready to go to our room! We were very suprised to see we were given a room with seperate beds and not one with a king bed. On our honeymoon! The butler came and tried to explain that the didn't have other rooms availible. We would be given an other if we wanted as soon as one came free... We spend 2 nights in the room before we could move... Our honeymoon didn't had the best start.
The room (a part from the beds) was very spacious (the room with the king bed is identical). Very spacious jacuzzi at the balcony! Very liked the fact to have a shower.

The restaurants are good, but We have to be honest and say most of the time we had diner at El Jardin. Food was wonderful. The showcooking was nice.

The Royal pool is nice as it is so close to the room. And of course Luis stands behind the bar! The best!
Beach is nice but we didn't like the royal beach very much as you can't see the sea from you seat and the is not a lot of sun.

We did make use of the transport service, but we did walk as well. It is not all that far away.

However we didn't feel that we got a royal treatment. When we reserved for the bbq the butler never told us that we could reserve lobster. They should ask you if you want lobster or not, that's pampering!

Conclusion: Dissapointed at the start, by the end of our staying we found that the resort was very good. We are not sure if we would stay in the royal again. The rooms are wonderful so that would be the main reason. The service we didn't found that special.
We did book a new holiday for the Kantenah section in november.
