Well we all have highly different ideas for what is special in life. Something that has been suggested to me multiple times, is to have High Tea at the Savoy. This is a truly unique experience.
It is simply one thing to have High Tea. The scones, finger sandwiches, pastries, and the tea. It is altogether an entirely different thing to have High Tea at the Savoy in London while passing an afternoon in luxurious environs.
Pro Tip: Make sure you dress classy. Yes that means suit and tie for the gents and nice dresses for the ladies.
My experience here is simply put elegant and classy. If you have the time and the money for it. It is a truly unique wonderful experience. I hope you do go and enjoy the experience.

When I went to enter 'Afternoon Tea at the Savoy' in my google calendar, I opened a new event and found it interesting that 'Afternoon Tea at the Ritz' was the example title of an event in London. Both tea's are something everyone must do once.
The Savoy lived up expectations with a live piano player and beautiful setting. I even had a chance to sneak into the Lancaster room that is furnished in an 18c French style and featured in several movies such as Notting Hill.

The Savoy is legendary and staying here is absolutely a treat. The rooms are warmly decorated and the pillowtop beds are like heaven. There are old world marbles everywhere and modern hotels are just not built like this anymore. The service is warm and professional. Checking out will be a very difficult task.

Now that this hotel has been renovated it is truly back to being first class! Right on the River Thames, located on the Strand it is opulence at its greatest. Totally awesome entrance, service, bar. If you can afford a suite it can get no more decadant than this place.

It's not all that impressive when you first drive up the circular drive of The Savoy. That is, it's like many other 5-star hotels you can visit throughout Europe -- and the US. But that is where the similarity ends. Upon entering the lobby you are greeted by someone as if you are entering their house. Not only was our party of four checked in all at once (people just appeared behind the desk to do that), but once you were checked in, that very same person came from behind the desk to show you personally to your room!
The room was glorious, as it should be, but there were two standouts, which, of course, were properly pointed out by the person who brought me to my room. First, the subtle push button by the bed, which was to be pushed to summon my PRIVATE BUTLER, whose sole job it was to cater to my every whim. The second was this wonderful 'rain' shower head, that was 2 feet in diameter!
I did have an occasion to summon the butler, to have my suit pressed before my company presentation. My suit was whisked away and brought back inn short order - it actually snuck back into my closet upon my return from dinner.
The Savoy is a wonderful mixture of the ultimate in luxury and visiting your best friend (albeit rich best friend!) at home.Recommended for
