Although it is said that the architecture is a contemporary take on Italian-Alpine, the owners are from Mexico City, and no one is named Sebastian. St. Sebastian is the patron saint of athletes. One of Vail’s newest properties, this chic, boutique hotel dazzles. Talk about the WOW effect! To the right of the stylin' lobby, is a lounge and the Frost Bar that has faux icicles encircling it. Across from it is the library, with book-lined shelves and fascinating artwork; it is dedicated to Manuel Figuerez, Mexico’s most celebrated abstract artist. The two food outlets are superior, from the casual, market café with California cuisine to the gourmet room, Block 16. The name might not be inviting but the fashionable décor and lighting, with its focal point, a cylindrical wine cellar, will make your jaw drop. The pool terrace is heavenly, the fitness center state-of-the-art, and the Bloom Spa has a litany of treatments including soaks for ski-sore bodies.
With an Italian Alps-inspired design, this 4-star hotel features locally quarried stone and arched ceilings with exposed wood beams to
100 guestrooms feature custom-designed furnishings, Egyptian cotton linens, and down duvets. Bathrooms include natural stone countertops and floors, plush bathrobes and slippers, and custom bath amenities. Rooms come with LCD televisions with premium cable channels and pay movies, CD players, iPod docking stations, complimentary wired and wireless Internet access, and in-room safes. One to four bedroom suites, 38 of them, are also available. Turndown service can be arranged on request and in-room massages are available for a surcharge.
