Located in the historic precincts north of the Han River, the Shilla is arguably the flagship hotel for the city of Seoul, and by extension the whole of Korea, a place where foreign dignitaries and business bigwigs stay while they're in town. Surprisingly, it's not entirely unaffordable -- a single starts at around 220,000 won per night: around 200 bucks.

Hands down the smartest address in Seoul with a tarriff to match. Rooms and suites are tastefully appointed, though the executive suite we were given on our last visit was suffering from a slight overdose of beige. The on site health club is particularly good and attracts a smattering of well-heeled non-guests too.

Top of the line, beautiful modern hotel. The fitness center and spas are great. The hotel is centrally located and very near the Dongdak University metro stop. The staff is professional and endlessly helpful. Ask the anything!

Probably the best hotel in Seoul with a great selection of restaurants and shopping. You will spend a lot of money but the service is also amazing.
