The Signature Room at the 95th offers the BEST skyline view of Chicago while diners enjoy a great meal. If you are not in the mood for dinner in the classy dining room I still recommend heading to the lounge for a couple drinks to go along with the magnificent view.Recommended for:

Great view of the city. I can't decide which view is better - during the day or at night. Better than going up in the Sears because it's free. They have an excellent Sunday brunch. It's expensive but definitely worth it!!

I could spend hours just taking in the breathtaking views here, which are probably second best to the views from Willis Tower. The cocktails are delicious, and not very pricey, so it's a perfect spot to just lounge the night away.
The restaurant is on the 95th and the lounge is on the 96th. You can get bites up in the lounge too.
The view from the womens' restroom are incredible!Recommended for:

Pay a little "more", and go here; sit down, have a great lunch buffet, and spend (almost) as much time as you want - with an amazing view.
Really - you're NOT paying more, you're just GETTING so much more. Been here many times, and it never gets old.

You go there for the views. Most of the seats are really great and you are free to go up to the windows to view and take pictures. The view from the bathroom is great, too! I like the views from there better than the Sears Tower and it's free! I recommend going at night.
The drinks and appetizers are pricey but just order a cocktail and enjoy. Grab dinner beforehand. The service is slow but they weren't pressuring us to leave even though we were taking our time. The line is very long to get in but moved along and was worth it.

Its FREE to go up and get the best view of the city! I would suggest going at night... the view is breathtaking. There is a bar area and a restaurant area. Its a bit expensive, but just go for 1 drink and get the view! It is an experience everyone should enjoy.

Let's just say that the fourth star is probably predominantly due to the fact that I was a tourist here but overall I had a great time at the Signature Lounge on top of the Hancock tower ... pricey drinks and all.
First, lets talk about the view. Without having to pay for the observatory, you get a gorgeous view of Chicago all around. The lounge goes all the way to the windows so you can get a front and center view of the Chicago night sky if you go at night and all the lights lighting up downtown. You can also sit at the bar if you have a fear of heights and still have a great time.
If you don't make reservations, there could be a hefty line, which I waited in for about 30 minutes to get seated ... but otherwise it wasn't bad and there is no cover. The lounge is a great place to take in Chicago on a wonderful night with a few drinks in hand. Will be returning shortly!

An old stomping ground of mine this place has everything from great food, to nice staff, and great drinks from the lounge. A word of advise. If you look up and cannot see the top of the building then dont bother going up. You will be sitting in a cloud.

Sure it's in the top of every Chicago tourist's list but there's good reason. The view from the 95th floor of the Hancock Building is truly exceptional any time of day. If you time it correctly, you can even watch Navy Pier's weekly fireworks show while you wine and dine. Locals know some of the best photo opps are in the women's washroom. An absolute "must do" in Chicago!

You have to experience the Signature Room during the day (might I recommend brunch- it's incredible) and at night! The view seems totally different but is equally as breathtaking either way. The lounge is great for martini-sipping in the moonlight.

Terrible food and service primarily directed at the tourist trade that doesn't know any better. If it's not a clear night, cancel your reservation since the view is the only interesting thing in this place.
You might do better by just visiting the bar, which has a better view of the city since it's on the west side of the building. It can get packed, so try an off night. Be prepared for overpriced drinks. After you're done at the bar, have dinner at the Cheesecake Factory at the bottom of the building.

food was pretty standard fare, but let's face it, you're not really here for the food. The view is gorgeous. If you go during a clear sunny day you'll get your money's worth. couldnt have picked a better tower to put a restaurant on, right next to the lake.

Are you looking for a restaurant that has some great views of Chicago? You'll find it at the Signature Room at the John Hancock. The food is delicious and you 360 views of the city and lake. The lake is so beautiful, it looks like a light blue ocean. There is also the Signature Lounge upstairs to take in more views with some drinks.

After having been to this restaurant five times, I feel I can write a very honest review. I think people generally either love it or hate it. The view is by far the best in Chicago, particularly from the women's bathroom.
If you're not into the fancy dinner thing, just go for cocktails. You still get the view, but you won't leave with a $200 bill. Drinks are also expensive, so just order one and sip it over conversation.
Dress up, make a reservation and enjoy yourself. You don't often get to experience the lights of the city from the perspective that you get at the Signature Room.
