Great place to stay with or without kids. No pool, but the location, super clean big rooms, GREAT service from all staff and price make up for it. Simple, fresh breakfast. Noon checkout, yet they securely held our bags and you may keep your car in the ramp until 5pm of your checkout day.Recommended for:

Located near the L tracks in the Loop, the Silversmith Hotel & Suites has a small downstairs entrance-area that doesn’t tip off the much-larger and impressive lobby found on the second floor. Walk on in, grab a lemon-flavored water from the cooler, and check out the lush ferns or the silverware display. There are also treadmills in the lobby, which may be weird from some. I don’t like sweating it up in such a public area, but I do have to say that this second-floor view would be great for a run.
The rooms are quite nice and feature silver-colored touches that make them also feel quite modern. This hotel really combines both words: classic feel and modern accents. It’s a hotel where your significant other, as well as your parents, would enjoy. As a huge bonus, the famous Iwan Ries cigar store and lounge is located across the street. If you’re into lighting up a stogie and bringing your own scotch, you’ll love this classic, second-floor spot.Recommended for:

This hotel is charming. The building is a historic landmark (I believe it was built in 1897) that overlooks the elevated train on Jeweler's Row. I loved the lobby's decor, but one of the employees told me that they're likely going to be redesigning it soon. They're opening a restaurant on the first floor in the next month or so, and moving the lobby from the second floor to the first. Guest rooms are much larger than I was expected for the location, with high ceilings and plenty of room to move around. I especially liked the sectional couch and chaise.Recommended for:
