The Soho Hotel

4 Richmond Mews, London W1D 3DH, England
29 reviews

This is a great hotel and the cocktail bar is fabulous. We went there on the day after Halloween, when Soho was teeming, and found it a refuge. Wonderful service, terrific sense of style, and all around top hotel.

    Curzon Cinema - Soho

0.15 mi from The Soho Hotel
    2 reviews

Do you like going to the movies but hate wasting your arts and culture budget on big, ugly multiplexes? The Curzon is the answer. Nice bar, indie/intellectual/arty film programming, AND it sits in the middle of Soho/Chinatown. Sure, the £4 bags of fancy popcorn (marshmallow and black pepper? really?) are a little much, but the schmanciness is a small price ...

A true test of how good a cocktail bar is the staff. The first time I visited I wasn't keen on the cocktails on offer, the barman asked me three things I liked to drink and he created a beautiful drink that I have never been able to recreate. Being asked to try it to make sure I liked it ...

    Experimental Cocktail Club

0.16 mi from The Soho Hotel

Gerard Street is hectic Chinatown, so you’ll be pleased to find the ECC’s shabby chic black door with the wash of red paint. It certainly isn't obvious, and from the outside certainly doesn’t look like London’s hottest new hangout. Set over 2 stories of a townhouse, with good beats in the background, the vibe is super laid back Parisian cool. ...

    Waxy O'Connor's

0.21 mi from The Soho Hotel

Waxy's was one of my favorite spots while studying abroad in London. With four bars on a total of six levels, the space is massive and features winding staircases and a maze of passages that lead to tucked away seating areas and balcony-type overlooks. Tall trees with twisting branches give you the feeling that you're running around a giant treehouse ...

It was sad to see the first outpost in Westbourne Grove disappear, but fantastic that it's been reborn at two central London locations: this one in Soho, the other in Covent Garden. The speciality here are pintxos (pronounced peen-chos, meaning ‘thorn’ or ‘spike’), the Basque country variant of tapas. As you might expect, a great Spanish wine and cav list ...

In the 1980s if you weren't a member here then you were nobody. Founded by Joel Cadbury, heir to the confectionery fortune, this is where the worlds of media, advertising and entertainment collided in a champagne-fuelled display of Thatcherite excess. Today it's a more sedate affair under new ownership (a venture capital fund). I'll still remember a now infamous night ...

Old theatre in central London, hosting production of Les Miserables. It is difficult to find tickets so book well in advance. Musical is great, loved the performances as well as stage design. As it was our fist show in London, we were a bit surprised how casual it is comparing to Europe, where people dress up, sip champagne and nibble ...

Much improved bookstore although sadly this has removed all the fun from trying to find books in the shop (they were formerly filed by publisher and not author or subject) and then trying to pay for them. N.b. Since I originally wrote this, Foyles have relocated further along the Charing Cross Road to the former St Martins School of Art ...
