This place is definitely a five star facility in a five star location. And we loved it here. However we visited during Easter break when the hotel was at full capacity and the service quality strained and was inconsistent. Food was over cooked. Water bottles and toiletries were not replenished. Basic mistakes that they slowly corrected. Unacceptable when you are paying their high rates. We stayed after the peak and service started to meet our high expectations. But compared to other hotels in this category still fell short. (Eg we stayed at the Four Seasons Costa Rica last Easter and they crushed it). The Fern restaurant was outstanding (see my review). Molasses a little overrated. Seagrapes disappointing. Kayak tour is a must do for kids. Beach is not the Carribean blue. The Spa was outstanding (although steam room was not working and wasn't fixed). Overall because of the location and facility it more than made up for the service shortcomings.Recommended for:
