15/20; Room 9/10, Facilities&Dining 4/5, Service 2/5. Beautifully located new-ish resort, with the vast majority of rooms looking onto one of the nicest beaches in Mauritius. Rooms are a tasteful mix of historical influence and new, something I'd maybe term neo-tropical-colonial, so appeals to a wide range of tastes. Its all stylish and supremely comfortable - the bed is the most comfortable I can remember sleeping in, but that's always subjective, o course. The resort is relatively compact yet still packs in a huge swimming pool (plus teo smaller ones), six restaurants, two bars, a tennis court, a kids club, all framed by the beach running the length of the property. The immediate surroundings are less exciting, unless you're there for the world-class kitesurfing, but at least the backdrop of Mont Calm reminds you that its not far to other attractions. Food coming out of the kitchen is very tasty, the beach-bar's cocktails are very good, its just all delivered quite chaotically, which is difficult to swallow at these prices. If that can be fixed, its hard to top as a great spot for a chillaxed break at the beach.Recommended for:
