The Stafford Hotel

16 - 18 St. James's Place, London SW1A 1NJ, England
6 reviews

The Stafford Hotel is one of our favorites as well as our correspondent's. With a charming courtyard lined with rooms in converted stables (two-part doors intact) and an old wine cellar filled with great vintages and some WW1 artifacts, and attentive, but not obsequious service, the Stafford is a hotel worth returning to again and again.

    The Wolseley

0.12 mi from The Stafford Hotel
    31 reviews

When you are visiting London, you must at least once go for high tea, and when you do, the Wolseley is one of the best places to do it. This is London at its finest. They serve amazing finger sandwiches (with the crusts cut off - hoorah!) - cakes, scones with clotted cream (one of the tastiest substances known to ...

    Novikov Restaurant and Bar

0.17 mi from The Stafford Hotel

Novikov is probably one of the trendiest fine dining spots in London featuring two dining ambiances: an Italian and an Asia one along with a super hip lounge. The Asia menu is adorned with innovative dishes such 'Mix fish ceviche w/ Mango' and "Rpast duck/ with fresh truffle jus'. For a smart night out and greatly fresh/tasty food, Novikov is ...

    Le Caprice

0.07 mi from The Stafford Hotel
    3 reviews

The iced berries with melted white chocolate are enough to warrant a five star review. I dream about that dessert. The food at Le Caprice is consistently good, the atmosphere is lovely and the service is terrific. I've heard terrible things about Le Caprice in NY, but the original remains one of my favorites.

    Pret A Manger

0.13 mi from The Stafford Hotel
    1 review

Pret A Manger IS AWESOMEEEE! My dad and I were staying at a hotel down the street, and were looking for a cheap, easy place to go to for breakfast during our 5-day stay in London. There were a ton of bakeries and cafes along Piccadilly Circus, but we decided to go to Pret A Manger since it looked pretty ...

Had lunch here last week and it was entirely credible. the Welsh rarebit was the best choice. Scallops were decent and the smoked salmon ordinary, but a very pleasant place to go for lunch if you want to avoid the crowds in Mayfair.

    Bone Daddies Ramen Bar

0.54 mi from The Stafford Hotel
    3 reviews

Despite its cheeky name and Soho location, there’s nothing particularly gay about Bone Daddies—the moniker instead is a nod to the bone-y roots of ramen, at which Bone Daddies excels. Opened in 2012 by former Nobu head chef Ross Shonhan, Bone Daddies is famous for its rock music soundtrack, its frequent long lines, and its superbly delicious ramen, which comes ...

I suggest getting the Katsu Curry Chicken. I had the vegetarian version of the Katsu Curry as well and they were both good. The vegetarian version was made with breaded sweet potato, eggplant, and squash. The sauce is amazing! I love Wagamama. I need to live by one.

The best sushi in London hands down. London is not known for its sushi, but Nobu is the only sushi place in London that can hold its own against a good California sushi restaurant. The scene is upscale, and the crowd decidedly stylish and cool. There are actually 2 Nobus in London. Park Lane is a nicer dining area, with ...

    Hard Rock Cafe

0.4 mi from The Stafford Hotel
    24 reviews

It's worth stopping at the original Hard Rock Cafe, the first of the ever-expanding chain, which opened in this former Rolls Royce dealership in the 1970s. To any rock fan, this is a pilgrimage. It has an extensive memorabilia collection, the same great American diner-style food, and the original Eric Clapton guitar he offered to the owners before the Hard ...

My favorite restaurant in London, hands down. Every dish is beautifully presented and very tasty. The atmosphere is super hip, with high ceilings, lacquered wood and lighting that makes it feel intimate even when the place is packed. And the cocktails are great as well. Definitely get a reservation, though, as they fill up weeks in advance.
