An excellent example of urban planning. Great design and nice to spent some time, relaxing after the busy city and looking at people who come there for different reasons….

The Meatpacking District used to be just that, but now it has been taken over by hipsters and the like. The old buildings are still there, and some of the streets have the old cobbles. High Line Park ends here and has some of the original tracks that moved the meat around.

Most elegant venue in the City with the best views. There is something utterly voyeuristic about the bathrooms so be prepared for an experience! Andre Balazs truly made a masterpiece when he created The Standard. It is quintessentially New York.

It's definitely for a younger crowd, and on the weekend it's definitely busy if the weather is good, so be ready to wait in line. There's a good variety of beers. It's a pretty fun atmosphere. And it's in a fun location. So why not if you are in the area?

Strange to think an area that was packed full of factories is now one of the more affluent areas to shop or party. This district is full of great restaurants and quite a few art galleries. If you want to see fantastic street are in NYC - the graffiti here is always creative and well done.

After spending quality time getting to know one of Gogobot's awesome Pro users, I kept wondering: How have I never been here before?! This Chelsea Market gem truly impressed me. The staff was very attentive and friendly, the cocktails were unique and memorable, and the cheese plate I ordered was very satisfying.

The red-soled beauties sold at this boutique are favorites of fashionable women everywhere and with good reason. Expect to pay upwards of $600 for the privilege of wearing a pair of Louboutin shoes and look elsewhere if it is comfort you seek, but for those who love great shoes, this is the place to be.

I always love to visit piers and waterfront districts in big cities. They feel like a dichotomy - where the urban jungle meets the sea. Pier 54 is one such place and also special because it's a great spot to catch the Macy's Fireworks on the 4th of July. All hail the Hudson River!

Awesome bar! Lots of fun little rooms, dirty jenga and good drinks. The later it gets and the drunker people get, the more dancing that occurs.

Primarily a commercial production space but hosts some of the better events and exhibitions in the city. Very popular with the fashion set. The gallery space itself isn't particularly large and is only as impressive as the exhibition or crowd that it draws.

Located in the Meatpacking District, Cielo plays a wide variety of music in a small club. The house music is good, but the excellent salsa band that performs on Wednesday is the real highlight and worth seeing live.

Tenjune was previously one of the top clubs in meatpacking, typically always a good time here. However, there was an incident there that involved the death of an underaged girl (was all over the news). Since then Tenjune has never really been the same and quite a few DJs refuse to play there. It has really been going downhill, I ...

Highline is a great venue; we came here and got a table. The dance is alright however people can get pushy in it. We hung back at our table most of the time (this is really the way to go), so I can’t really comment on the bar situation either. We all had a great time here; definitely stop by ...

This is one of the coolest urban reclaimation projects I have seen. They took an old elevated railway line and turned it into a landscaped park/and consumer walkway 4 stories above street level. You don't quite escape the noise of the city, but it feels somehow peaceful anyway.
