If having a DJ in the lobby of your hotel sounds like your kind of scene, then you will want to book a room at The Standard. Other perks of this hotel include the 24-hour diner, which is perfect for the post-drinking munchies; the pool parties; and the quirky furniture, like bean bag chairs in the rooms.

I never stayed at the hotel just been to the Cactus Lounge. It's really low key and offers an outdoor area to hang out at. Everything is overpriced as expected on the Sunset Strip but the bartenders and servers are really nice there. Go there to start your night. There is a really ambiance in the front of the hotel which is great for photo ops!

    #BeOut

The Standard may have peaked in coolness many moons ago, but the pool makes us want to party like it’s 1999.

Very Sexy hotel in the heart of the sunset strip in hollywood. great club down stairs and in a great location. Every thing within walking distance is what i love the most. A must go in my book. A staple of LA.

What a gorgeous venue - great views from the pool deck, and it's an excellent place to host a party. LA CANVAS hosted a live art benefit here a couple months ago and the space was a nice blend of casual sophistication - perfect for the live music + art set up.

The rooms are not great and i think it has lost the cool factor it had in 2000. But make sure you try the diner at the front of the hotel they make a wicked split pea and ham soup!

This place doesn't really live up to the reputation. I think it's a bit boring and overpriced for the drinks. I've not stayed here, only gone out for drinks, but in my opinion, not even worth the $20 bucks you have to pay to park on Sunset strip.

This place is quirky and different than what I thought it would be. I didn't really know what to expect actually but with people continuously telling me about this roof top bar, and being on the infamous sunset blvd, I was intrigued.

I feel like this is probably not a place you want to stay at and more of a place you stop by, grab drinks, chill, play in the lobby, and leave it all behind. I can't imagine waking up each day and having to waddle through all the stuck up noses in the lobby.

It's expensive to stay around, even on sale it's around $150 and the location isn't great and of course you have to add on parking to your nightly rate. It's loud, noisy, and obnoxious for the most part because people come here to party not to sleep. The bar is a novelty. I would come back again for the bar, but I don't have to sleep here for the novelty of this place.

Rooms are very ordinary and bland. The sheets and other bedding are scratchy. You are paying for the nightlife, the club, the pool, not for a comfy place to sleep. You are paying to be in the "in" hotel. There is a glass "tank" for a woman to just hang out in. Whoo Hoo. How did I ever live without that. Thats what I call art. (can you feel the sarcasm)
There are also other subtle signs of their sense of humor, like "Blow" and "Blow harder" for the air conditioner.

The Standard is in a great location, right in the middle of Sunset Blvd. There are some very cool parties that go on here. I would say the rooms aren't that great, but really you're not there to sleep.

The dinner totally adds to the "retro-modernism" of the whole place ... but the prices are a bit expensive, even for Hollywood.
