Enjoy all the small shops in the Strand Historic District in some of the oldest buildings in the country! Fun to see and enjoy, no need to buy just enjoy the people and events happening when you visit!

The Strand is my favorite area in Galveston. It is rich in history, and has tons of cute old buildings. There are lots of shops and restaurants in this area.

Shopping, history, art galleries, antique shops, nightlife, restaurants. Be sure to visit Kings Confectionery for homemade ice-cream, special coffees and an amazing candy display. Oil rig museum, historic films, and watching all types of boats and water fowl as well as dolphins nearby.

Love strolling the Strand. My personal favorite place is LA King. Great place to buy unique souvenirs. Weekend nights are great to walk the strand and listen to live music, look at the various artists and people watch.

The Strand Historic District, also known as the Strand District, in downtown Galveston, Texas, is a National Historic Landmark District of mainly Victorian era buildings that now house restaurants, antique stores, and curio shops.
    Shopping, eating and drinking!

Fun to walk around and shop for a day. Be careful as far as timing goes, it's not near as fun when it's hot!

The Strand is chock full of kitsch shops brimming with adorableness. Friendly shop clerks, as well. I had a blast running in and out of the shops and discovering all the various tchotchkes.

This is one of the best parts of Galveston. It's gorgeous here and a great area just to walk around and take in the ocean air. Whether you're playing chess on the giant chess board in the park or hitting up the local shops, it'll be a great time for all. The historic architecture is captivating and La King's is a must stop for a milkshake break.

Shopping, restaurants and more. The Strand is a great place to walk around, spend the afternoon and stay for dinner. If you are in town around the holidays, check out Dickens on the Stand.

There is something for everyone here, In addition to all of the beautiful old historical buildings, there are as many businesses that cover just about anything. Lots of island apparel, souvenirs, antiques, restaurants, bars, ice cream/candy shops are clustered in this area. Don't miss Island Relics at 911 22nd street. It's a resale/antique/decor/fashion establishment. My own shop is in this store and I sell fashion items like clothing, shoes, handbags and jewelry. Nearly all of my items are Chico's, Ralph Lauren and other upscale labels at very low prices.

Enjoy a day in downtown Galveston and take in some of Galveston's history. The Strand offers great shopping, restaurants and bar hopping. A short walk from the strand to Pier 21 or Post Office Street. There is normally always an event going on downtown from Art Walk, Shrimp Festival, Dickens on the Strand, Biker Rally and so much more. Be sure to check out the events that occurring when you plan to visit. From The Seahorse Cottage Google Maps says The Strand is a 1.4 mile bike ride, 8 min.

Great place to stroll during the day and evening. My favorite is a Friday or Saturday night. Bar hop while listening to the Live bands, take in some art on the street. Favorite place is LaKing Confectionary. Take time to look up and enjoy the old world buildings. The architecture is amazing.

The History of Galveston Island is amazing! This is the place to start! It is a 26 mile drive from Pointe West, but well worth the trip! Drive down the seawall to 25th. Great views of the Gulf, Pleasure Pier et. al. The Strand provides many shopping, dining, drinking, people watching and educational opportunities. Many holiday celebrations/activities as well. Another MUST!
