MBK is great... Until you find better places. You can find pretty much everything here cheaper on the streets or more exciting JJ market. Not a bad choice if you're in a rush.

    Wat Pho

2 Sanamchai Road, Phraborom Maha Ratchawang 10200 Thailand
3.59 mi from The Sukhothai Bangkok
    65 reviews

Just a short walk from the everybody-and-their-cousin free-for-all of the Grand Palace, Wat Pho receives (comparatively) far fewer visitors and, most importantly, it's actually possible here to have a moment of quiet to oneself. Eminent among Bangkok's countless 'wats', Wat Pho is rightly famous for its gargantuan reclining Buddha figure (really very incredibly large), and would be an easy first ...

part of the Royal Palace complex in old town Bangkok, so if you see one you'll see the other. Make sure to make it a stop on your itinerary - it is glittering gold and spectacular. Right next to MBK. Same thing. Shops and food. You can hang out there tho. Lots of street vendors and cute shops. I got dresses from one of the independent shops in SS. Lots of school kids. This is a hangout (and Paragon too). No air conditioning here unless you go into the vented places (where it connects you to ...

The concept for this shopping complex is very unique and interesting. Larger shops on the ground floor to tiny ones selling everything from T-shirts to accessories on the upper floors. Worth a visit.

Mobbed as Bangkok is with tourists, Chinatown here still gets fairly few foreign visitors. More's the pity, because it's a zone of fascinating street markets, great food, and a host of picturesque shops selling everything from machine parts to Chinese Buddhist paraphernalia. Staying in Silom? Walk back from Wat Pho rather than catching a taxi -- it's a long hoof, ...

Not being a huge connoisseur of Thai Buddhist temples, I can't remark on the substance of this place, but I can say its location is fantastic. Bangkok is a pretty flat city, so to be able climb up the only hill for miles around, and have a lovely temple on top from which to admire the's pretty great.

Nice place to spend time away from the busy streets and malls. Good collection of marine creatures and the sharks to me were the real attraction. It will take you at least 2 hours to see everything in there. A bit pricey.

It was said as the replacement of Suan Lum but I must say it's not as it is better and more developed. People say it's a bit touristy, but I still enjoy spending my time here. There are plenty of restaurants to try and nice small shops to explore.

It's a statue, best seen at night, on the way back from place X (it seems to either always be on the way back, or I just always got ripped off by cab drivers). Other than that, there isn't much to say. I'm also a bit unclear as to what the victory refers to (Thailand was never conquered, as far ...
