Excellent cuisine and unbeatable views of the ocean just across the street. The menu is all upscale and exquisite, but the atmosphere is not as hoity toity. I had divine fish tacos, while my dining partners had scallops, mussels, prime rib, and organic short ribs - and every single one of us raved about our dishes. Dinner time is perfect with the late setting sun, and despite the mandatory valet parking (and the insanely stressed/hurried valets), our experience was entirely enjoyable. I'd definitely recommend the scallops - they are known for them - but the fish tacos were incredible as well.

A hangout for Malibu locals, separated from the sand only by the two lane Westward Beach Road, Sunset Restaurant serves good food with live entertainment on some evenings. It's a great place to have dinner followed by a stroll on the beach watching the moonlit surf crash toward shore.

Here's the deal, if you're going to have a deal, pls don't make it seem like it's IMPOSSIBLE to get it~
I saw the "FREE" one glass of house wine upon check-in with yelp & was super excited to get a glass~ who wouldn't want free stuff right! But, guess what, it's "ONLY AVAILABLE" if you're at the bar. O.k., that's fine and understandable, but it didn't state that in the voucher, WTF!
With that said, food was good, but not for the price you're paying. Got fried seafood, it was food, but no flavor without the sauce. And, I got macaroni and claim chowder. The Macaroni was really cheesy and delicious, whereas the claim chowder was unusual in a good way. The claim chowder is between the mix of a corn chowder (if you're Asian, you know the kind that you have in Taiwan? those kind) and claim chowder. I would give 3 and half stars to both.
My friend got crab egg Benedict. Honestly, the crab is not fresh crab because it tasted very fishy! When seafood taste fishy, you know it's not fresh. I would give that egg benedict a 2 stars.
Overall service, it was blah. It took us a LONG LONG time to get everything, and everything was SUPER SLOW! Just blah.
Bottom line, unless you're passing by the area and need something to eat, DEFINITELY not worth the drive and DEFINITELY not worth your money. And, most of all, don't bother checking-in cause they don't HONOR VOUCHER!
Oh~ and 1 star..... because I HATE PEOPLE WHO LIES!
