Definitely not a place to go on any given day, but a great place to know about as live music and launches take place here strewn among the rusty trains, and bent tracks. A very cool venue to hang out when something is on.

In the grounds of the National Museum, there's a recreated Kikuyu homestead and a Snake Park, where you can see black mambas, some sad-looking crocodiles and giantdudus (creepy crawlies). Currently the Snake Park exhibits major groups, 1.Invertebrates like Giant Snails, Baboon Spider ,Mombasa Train Millipede, Crayfish, Freshwater Prawns 2.Vertebrates like Fishes both Marine and Fresh water, Amphibians, Reptiles, Birds and ...

It’s hard to fault Cin Cin’s ambience. It’s chic, plush and inviting – what with its lounge chairs and retro deco. Plus they have a wine cellar – yes, a real walk in wine cellar. We tried their Douglas Green Cinsault 2007. It’s great wine by all standards – fruity, full bodied and smooth.

The sights from the balcony is to die for... the Oak tree...the sunken baths, the 'stone' swimming pool and even the railway line. I cannot describe this place enough. It is amazing!!

A hip cultural center in the central business district. You can take French course here during the week, and they often have well attended local art and music events on the weekends, and host a fair sized stage. A cool place to know about.

Also known as Uhuru Park or Uhuru Gardens, and the famous big urban park of the city. A nice green grass area with scattered trees for shade, it contains a number of monuments to historical milestones in Kenyan history and was one of the places where Wangari Maathai made a stand against the Moi government in the early 90's. However, ...

The spot for "tail-gating" before a game. They serve cold beer, and assorted items on the grill. Not a place you will find many women, or an air of class. It is literally under bleachers.

It is unique in that it is located in the city, making Kenya the only capital city in the world with a a park within it. There are other undiscovered picnic and event sites. The park also has a campsite. Another get away spot is the Nairobi Safari Walk that is close to the city. It is great for those ...

Was so excited to be going (at the Ya Ya Centre) until I got there - the range was limited and the bartering was insane and they are clearly used to ripping the tourist off. It's hard to say I "loved" Kibera slums. It is simultaneously a heartbreaking and thrilling place to visit. Make sure you visit with a local - though it's not an explicitly dangerous place, even Kenyans aren't likely to wander through without a guide who knows the area. A microcosm of the greater world around it, if you can see past ...

On the top floor of the Tribe hotel sits this very small bar, aptly named Nest. It is outdoors with a view over the pool and surrounding greenry, and there are comfortable couches to lounge around on. They serve shisha, and the bar tender makes some mean drinks. Try the ginger and lemongrass martini for sure.

The most upscale mall in town, frequented by rich UN and embassy expats. It hosts a number of nice restaurants, high-end stores and a large grocer. There is a nice plaza to sit and drink coffee, or grab some food, and there are poster boards on the exterior of those looking to buy and sell furniture, cars and services.
