I've been to this hotel several times for various events but have never stayed here. As a venue space, I highly recommend it as the service is great! It's location is good as it's in a less sketchy part of downtown and there's several dining options close by.Recommended for:

Had a 1-BR/2-Bath suite on the 26th floor or so with floor-to-ceiling windows providing a view of downtown LA. Had a small fridge, bar table & chairs, living room, valet parking, breakfast, & gr8 staff also. Location gr8 for visiting the fashion & jewelry districts downtown as well as the Staple Center, Convention Center, Disney Concert Hall, etc. Not far from the 110 freeway which leads to the 101 to Hollywood. Or take the 110 to the 10 West to get to the Pacific Coast Highway for the beaches. Or take the 405 North to get to Sunset to drive thru Beverly Hills to see the million-dollar homes.

I love the architecture here, the place has a really cool vibe to it - not to mention one of my favorite movies was shot in here (True Lies). The rooms have a quirky feel to them (a lot of angles) to accomodate the design of the building. That said, when I stayed here, they were under construction (so one of the elevators was down) and there was a ton of noise from a party going on downstairs (I had asked for a room that was quiet, as this was after getting up really early to go to to the Rose Parade). Clean rooms and sheets. I'd still come back though, if anything, for the ride up and down the elevators.

Suede Bar & Lounge:
Medium sized lounge with a small bar...
They only had 1 bartender working on a popping Friday Night...they had long lines & a lot of people were unable to get their drinks & HH food specials in time.. -1
Bad service too..drinks were too fruity & had no alcohol in them @ all -1
I tried calling this place to talk to the manager but the no one was picking up the phone for hours.. =( -1
Asked the DJ to lower the music since it was WAY too loud for people to talk to each other but they were UNABLE & Unwilling to accommodate us.. -1
After 10PM they try to turn this place into a night club..SERIOUSly??!!
Wow, there are tons of clubs in LA that are so much better than this cramped over decorated joint... =(
Decor was nice..red plushy furniture.. 8 pts..+1
Food was mediocre @ best..
Decor shouldn't be the only selling point of this lounge/bar, a place should also be rated on it's service, atmosphere, food & how accommodating management should be when there's a large group that comes to its establishment ..which was ZERO... =(

Trippy architecture and ground-zero Downtown LA location. Just thinking about the futuristic glass-and-steel cylinders reminds me of many good times there. Also reminds me of Mike Jittlov's cult short film "Animato: Fashionation" (find it on YouTube and you'll see what I mean). Stayed in standard room(s), all the amenities one would expect. It's changed a bit since my last visit, and I can't wait to get back and see what's new!

The westin hotel located right off the 101 freeway and is almost in the heart of Los Angeles. Located minutes from the staples center gives this hotel a wide range of activities that are readily available. From personal experience I can tell you there are great restaurants located within walking distance from the hotel. Also included within the hotel are many different shops, a mini mall of different stores to help pass the time or window shop. A few of the hotels features consist of what looks like a five star restaurant located on the first floor lobby area. Also located on the lobby floor is a nice lounge with plenty of drink varieties. The hotel on this visit had some small indoor construction going on but wasn't a big eye sore or burden. The staff was very friendly and never at any point gave the impression that they would be unwilling to answer your questions. Moving outside, the pool was located on the fourth floor and was an outdoor pool. Before reaching the pool there was a cafe that took advantage of the outdoor layout. With the patio furniture, the sun and shade from the surround buildings makes the outdoor pool a nice relaxing place to be. Over all this hotel is a nice place to stay located in Los Angeles with a very nice decor.

It's a Westin, so it's a pretty quality hotel. If you stay here, you will definitely recognize the lobby and elevators from many movies and television programs. The lobby bar is okay... but there are soooo many other great places in DTLA I'm not sure why you'd go.

The Bonaventure is definitely aging. But, it's a landmark! The round buildings are cool! The rotating circular restaurant/bar is always a fun stop for a quick drink, although, who hangs out in downtown LA these days?
We stayed here and got upgraded to a giant suite once -- HUGE suite. It had a living space, separate bedroom, a dining room with a board room meeting table, and two bathrooms.
So, it was a good experience.

One of the bigger hotels in downtown Los Angeles, the Bonaventure has been a landmark in downtown for some time. They're most famously know for their rotating circular restaurant at the observation deck.
The conference and banquet rooms are huge, so if you need to hold an even in downtown ... this is a good choice.
