When staying at pricey establishments it really gets on my nerves when there are extra costs involved, so the high internet rates (20 euro per day) and expensive breakfast at the Westin Grand are a nuisance. However, the hotel more than makes up for it with the level of comfort and convenience it affords and although the breakfast is expensive, it's definitely worth attending at least once during your stay as the food is fantastic. The hotel lies on a busy road and area of central Berlin, heavily populated by tourists and traffic but thankfully the rooms (which are clean and well designed) don't seem to be affected by the noise pollution, making them very easy to make yourself at home in.
The leisure amenities are second to none; I would definitely recommend spending an evening in the candlelit wellness area after some gym work before hopping in the oval pool for a splash. Without a doubt it will leave you suitably refreshed to go and explore the city, which, from the hotel's location, is very easy. There's almost too much to see and do in that area, but one place I would vouch for is Cafe Einstein, a legendary Berlin establishment about 5 minutes away on Unter Den Linden.

There's so much to see and do when visiting Berlin and this hotel is the perfect starting point. Located in the cultural center of Berlin, you've got Brandenburger Tor, Unter den Linden, Check point Charlie, the Holocaust Monument, the Parliament building and a host of other stuff literally just around the corner. On top of that, the shopping mile of Friedrichstrasse is right there as well, so location-wise this hotel is one of the best. Now for the hotel: they offer a free valet service and handle quick and simple check-ins with polite room service. It's also nice to know that you can borrow sports equipment for free on the spot and use the fitness and spa area. One major recommendation: ask for the Heavenly Beds. Just make sure you set three alarms in the morning.
