This is a really neatly designed hotel property. They did a great job leveraging Malaysian culture into the design and decor. The suite I had was very spacious, but lacked any character at all. The pool are was really nice with some grotto style pools that i loved. They have a fantastic spa that is also stunning. The property has a handful of villas that you can reserve as well. The food options are not that great and expensive and there is nothing close to the resort really so you need a cab or hired car to go anywhere else on the island. The service was on par with what you expect from Asian hospitality, nothing over the top. The resort is definitely quiey and relaxing and it seemed like several couples were there on their honeymoon. The hotel will email you a couple days before your arrival to make sure they are aware of any additional requests and if they can assist you in anyway.

Lovely hotel grounds. Very romantic ambience and totally family friendly. Had a bit of a disagreement with Front Office staff regarding the inclusion of breakfast. Staff member kept insisting this was not inclusive while my Hotels.com voucher stated that it was. It put a bit of a damper on our holiday but other than that I cannot really fault the staff. The rooms are nice but ours seemed like it needed a bit of a maintenance. Paint was peeling etc.. Breakfast and food in general in the resort is very very good. All in all I would definitley go there again.Recommended for:Family Travelers

The Westin is a wonderful hotel near the main part of Langkawi. It extremely convenient and well located.
The Westin has somewhat of a private road which secludes it from the rest of the hotels, but it's still close enough to walk out to town (10-15 minute walk). It's an especially picturesque walk during sunset because of the small harbor with the sail boats just makes it extra special.
The rooms are wonderful ... just as I'd expect at any other Westin in any other country, it's immaculate and very comfortable.
However, I wouldn't recommend eating in the hotel. Although it's good food ... it's quite expensive compared to anything that you can get in town.
They have a nice private beach and if you have a bit more money, the villas with individual pools are nice .. but not necessary. The Westin has 2 very nice large pools which are more than adequate.
The only downside is the beach is a bit rockier and filled with a bit more shells than I'd like. Also the water isn't crystal clear like it is on the Anadaman Coast.
I'd recommend spending a couple of days at the Westin and a few days on the Andaman Coast if you're a beach lounger like me.
