I am generally a fan of the Westin chain. Like the Heavenly Bed. However the Westin Palo Alto leaves a bit to be desired. The rooms are fine, though lacking any sort of view. The pool is tiny, and stuck in a little courtyard that only gets sun for 2-3 hours a day. There is not much of a lobby to hang out in, nor an interesting bar to grab a drink. The big plus is the location - you can walk to University Ave, and there frankly are not a lot of options on the nicer end in the center of Palo Alto. So if you want location, this is a good option. If you are looking for something a bit nicer and will have a car, try the Four Seasons or the Rosewood.

My husband and I stayed at the Westin in Palo Alto for one night when he had to come to the area for a job interview. The room was great, clean and the bed was so soft, and staff was very nice too. They even are pet friendly, which is perfect for us since we always travel with our little chihuahua. I would totally stay at the Westin again!
