This is an impressive structure to say the least. It's part of a cloister of buildings in the center of the business district, and it rises confidently above the surrounding structures. It's worth a ride to the top of the building just to see the view. The interior is open-aired and visually impressive. There is a lobby bar and adjoining restaurant, and a good little pub nearby that only opens when it's 5:00 somewhere. The pool is just high enough in the air to hide the rest of the city from view, which is a nice touch. Even with all these striking features it's still just another decent hotel. It doesn't seem to lack much, which is exactly what you'd expect from a place like this.Recommended for:

This Westin is hidden within an aging business park in North Central Dallas' business district. I have to admit, my expectations were pretty low but I was presently surprised by the sexy, modern lobby. Westin definitely knows how to capture a first impression. From the artwork utilizing natural elements to the thoughtfully designed lobby bar and dining area, it all makes for an inviting welcome for travelers. I learned that they're in the midst of a major renovation that is scheduled to kick into high gear in early 2014. Rooms on the higher floors (read: the Executive Level) are more likely to have been renovated already. I saw one of the older rooms and unfortunately you can almost smell the age in the walls. The only modern element present is the Westin Heavenly Bed, and the electronics, but that's about where it stops. If you're booking, see if you can get one of the renovated rooms to continue the magic you encountered in the lobby.Recommended for:

I hadn’t been to the Westin Park Central in a while but when I got there, I was happy to find that a much-needed, recent renovation had left the lobby and bar with a fresh, clean, slightly Asian inspired décor. After I drank some citrus-infused water and pondered what you could do with fresh wheat grass, I headed up to the room and was reminded why the Westin beds and baths are called Heavenly, they were calling my name. Next I went to the recently updated fitness center where I found that even if you don’t bring workout clothes, they’ve got you covered, even with patented New Balance tennis shoes that have removable inserts so it’s like getting a brand new pair of shoes, the fitness center overlooks a newly renovated rooftop pool are where you can relax and enjoy some sun and a great view of the city without having to listen to all the sounds of one.
