The Westin Peachtree Plaza seems to have an energy that comes from within. This prominent piece of the Atlanta skyline towers over downtown with the distinctive curved shape. This is a very large hotel, however the staff pays very close attention to making certain you are comfortable and happy. I can imagine this is no small task.
After surviving the tornado that hit downtown Atlanta in 2008, this hotel was visibly scarred from the outside for several years with missing windows. The building has now returned to grandeur and the rooms have undergone a stunning renovation. The rooms are elegant with mesmerizing views and ample space. I love the crisp and impeccable linens on the beds.
The fitness center is absolutely huge. I could not imagine ever having to wait in line for a cardio machine here. The pool has been tastefully updated and is covered with a rounded glass ceiling that mimics the round design of the tower.

Super easy to get to from the MARTA station (although the first time I visited Atlanta, I landed at night and it was intimidating trying to orient myself of which direction was north/south once I surfaced). This is definitely a very business-oriented hotel. The lobby areas are cold, quiet and a little too spacious. I felt bad making any noise, dragging my suitcase up to check in. The whole building is like a super tall cylinder, which means the rooms were also curved. The views were stunning though. The room decor is just okay - watch out for sharp edges and corners. Not really a home-y feel. At least the beds are comfortable!Recommended for:
